I grew up in a neighborhood pet store where my parents worked in the 1980s. They opened their own store in 1992. I have always been comfortable around animals. I have cared for cats and dogs my entire life! Now, I'm a retired social worker, dog mom, and advocate for responsible pet care and rescue adoption. I have expertise in behaviorism and positive reinforcement training. My pet care philosophy is meeting the needs of every animal I care for while providing unmatched customer service to my human clients!

I understand how stressful it can be for fur babies left at home when their humans leave. I will provide the same love and attention you would for your them, and that I do my own fur babies. I understand how important enrichment is and I will see to it that your baby isn't bored during my visits.

Melanie did a good job in taking care of our "kids", she always kept us updated and sent pictures and videos, plus responded on any questions we had. Melanie loves animals and it showed, and the kids responded to her kind nature.
Melanie is an excellent sitter. She somehow won over my standoffish cat who doesn't like anyone. I'm very impressed and my girl loves her. I'll definitely be rebooking in the future.
Mel does a wonderful job taking care of your fur baby, following all your instructions with care. And, then, she does the little extras that add so much! Her attentiveness to whatever helps your pet feel your absence a little less makes her such a great sitter! Thank you, Mel!
This is our 1st time using rover. Melanie K was highly recommended to us, by family. Melanie K did a fabulous job kitty sitting for us. This a new thing for our 2 cats aswell and she went above and beyond. With Spohie in/out door, making sure she ice water for these hot days! And tips indoor, leaving her yummy treats and making sure she had all the her needs while she played extreme hide and go seeking, Most definitely would use Melanie K again !! We appreciate her very much with the all the care with our fur babies.

Everything was great! While our pup was so out of sorts while we were away, Melanie was kindly attentive to her and informative to us during her visits. Would definitely recommend Melanie!!
