Home Away From Home for Dogs 🐶
We’re lifelong dog lovers and know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the people caring for your pup while you’re away. Our goal is to give dogs a true home-away-from-home experience, with plenty of attention, affection, playtime and time to relax. We both work from home, so dogs in our care are rarely left alone for long stretches and get plenty of attention throughout the day. We also have teenagers who absolutely love dogs, so there is no shortage of extra pets, cuddles and affection in our house. We have a friendly dog of our own who loves other dogs, making our home a great fit for pups who enjoy having a playmate. We encourage supervised playtime and love giving dogs the chance to socialize, burn off some energy and have fun together, while always paying attention to each dog’s individual comfort level and personality. We treat every dog we host like part of the family and are happy to follow your normal feeding, sleeping and medication routines. We’ll also keep you updated with photos so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pup is happy, comfortable and well cared for.

Melanie is truly the kindest, most caring person I know! She loves dogs and kids more than anyone, and she has watched my own pups more times than I can count—I would trust her with my firstborn in a heartbeat! Just seeing how gentle and attentive she is with her own dog, Freddy, tells you everything you need to know about how much she loves our four-legged friends. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
I cannot recommend Melanie highly enough! She has cared for my dog on several occasions, and I’ve always felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in her hands. She is incredibly loving, responsible, attentive, and trustworthy—and she genuinely treats every animal as if they were her own. Melanie takes the time to understand each dog’s personality, routine, and individual needs, and she is wonderful about providing updates and photos. My dog absolutely adores her and is always excited to see her, which says everything! Anyone who books with Melanie can feel confident that their pet will be safe, happy, spoiled with affection, and exceptionally well cared for. She is exactly the kind of person you want looking after a beloved member of your family.
Melanie has baby sat my big boy for several years. He is a 95 lb collie so, she knows how to handle big dogs. She is incredibly reliable and ensures that we get great pup-dates regularly. My dog and her pomsky have become best friends so I know when I drop my dude off that he’ll never be alone and he’ll have a sweetheart to play with. Additionally, When my dog was recovering from a surgery I had to go on a work trip, Melanie was great about giving him daily medicine and ensuring he stayed clean and rested. All this to say, Melanie is the best!
Melanie is one of the most compassionate caring people I have ever met. The dog in her home is well loved, very kind and well behaved. Any dog who was lucky enough to spend time with her would be very happy!

Schedule
Because we both work from home, we’re home most of the day and able to give our guest pups lots of attention, playtime and potty breaks. Daily walks are already part of our routine, usually in the morning and/or evening depending on the weather. Our dog Freddie loves having another pup around to play with, and there’s also plenty of downtime and snuggling throughout the day. We’re happy to adjust our routine to match what your dog is used to at home.

Safety, trust & environment
We’re very conscientious about safety and want every dog in our home to feel comfortable, secure and well cared for. We have a fully fenced yard for supervised outdoor play and potty breaks, plus a pool for dogs who already enjoy swimming. Pool time is always supervised and completely optional. Our dog Freddie is a friendly, playful Pomsky who loves other dogs and is equally happy to play or snuggle up and relax. We supervise interactions, pay close attention to each dog’s personality and comfort level, and are happy to follow any routines, boundaries or crate preferences you use at home. Since we’re home most of the time, pups are rarely left unattended for long stretches.
