I have had a passion for dog care and training ever since I was young accompanying my grandmother to dog shows and learning how to care for and train her dogs. About 8 years ago I proudly aquired my Biology degree specializing in animal behavior and also completed my certification in positive reinforcement dog training and behavioral conditioning. Since then I have worked with and trained everything from puppies to seniors, chihuahuas to Irish wolf hounds. My extensive knowledge and experience with most dog breeds makes me comfortable handling even the most finicky pets. Interested in private dog training classes? I currently offer weekly hour-long lessons for beginner/puppy to advanced levels of command training as well as select behavior modification courses. Classes start at $100 per session with a $20 evaluation before booking. Please message me for more information. My animal care expertise extends into all categories of pets! Melanie is the most responsible pet caregiver/walking buddy I have had yet, and I have had many dogs over the years. She is knowledgeable about a variety of dog behaviors and has taught me so much about working with my 90 pound sheepdog mix who can be intermittently reactive to other dogs. I have so much respect for her, and believe me, I’m picky!
Melanie was so wonderful with our pup! She was communicative, prompt, and kind. She took her her on a long walk and we returned home to a dog who was happy, calm, and well exercised. We’d absolutely book Melanie again!

Schedule
Pet safety is my number one priority. Due to the summer heat I will only be able to safely walk dogs when the temperature is 85°or below. The rest of the time will be spent doing any indoor activity you prefer. Drop-in visits are not affected by the weather so this may be preferable to a full walk depending on the time of day your pet needs care. I will do my best to safely accommodate all requests.
