Hi there! My name is Melanie! A bit about myself: I have a long history, both professionally and personally, working as an animal caregiver to animals of all varieties, sizes, ages, and breeds. I’ve worked at animal sanctuaries in both California (where I’m from) and Kansas. I have a history as a dog bather and was the resident animal/house sitter in my neighborhood in California for over a decade. I work four days a week and my partner works from home. Because of this, your dog/cat/bird/etc. will get love and attention all day and night! We keep a clean home, have a fenced in back yard, live on a lovely block near a park and trail, love walking and biking, and are also extremely adept at lounging around the house. You can expect a swift response to your booking request and daily communication including a photo of your cutie patootie pet every day they stay with us. Thanks for considering us for the job!

Melanie took great care of our dog. She was happy and well cared for, and we received communication and photos from Melanie daily. Will definitely book again!
I appreciate that Melanie and Sam provided daily photos and that my dog was physically well-cared for during his stay. However, this experience ended up being a significant learning lesson regarding communication and following specific behavioral guidelines due to learning about two incidents on pickup. I provided a detailed care guide that emphasized my dog’s need for personal space and clear boundaries with strangers. Unfortunately, we later learned that he was taken into some social settings, leading to a few stressful encounters. My primary concern is that I was not informed of this incident during his stay—or his visible signs of anxiety—until the stay was over. Throughout the trip, I was told he was a 'perfect angel,' and ‘all is well’ which meant I couldn't provide the necessary advice to help him or the sitters navigate his stress in real-time. Overall it seems that he was generally well-cared for, but that there were some situations we would have preferred to have avoided.
Melanie and Sam were great to our dogs. We were so nervous leaving them for the first time since Nio was adopted last November. They’re really great dogs and Melanie’s house was the perfect spot for them. Thank you!!
Melanie and Sam were excellent hosts. They were very professional during the Meet and Greet and I immediately know I could trust them with our dogs. They sent regular photos and were good communicators. Our dogs seemed comfortable and happy staying with them and I would happily use their services again.
We will definitely book with Melanie again! She took great care of Rosco and I think he would have been happy to stay even longer. Lots of walks and cuddles were very appreciated :)
They did a great job watching our pup! He was tired the rest of the day so we know he had fun.

I work four days a week and my partner works from home. Because of this, your dog/cat/bird/etc. will get love and attention all day and night! This includes multiple walks in a day, a consistent feeding schedule, and LOADS of snuggles and play time.

The day will start with a morning walk, either before or after feeding (if that’s their typical schedule when they’re at home with you). There will be a lot of play, a lot of time outside in our backyard, and a lot of belly scratches.
