Safety, trust & environment

My home provides a safe and comfortable environment for your pet, with a securely fenced garden for quick outdoor needs and a spacious two-floor layout where they can roam and relax under supervision. I’m fortunate to live close to Angel & Greyhound Meadow, Headington Hill Park and South Park, offering lovely, open spaces for calm and enjoyable walks. Above all, I prioritise creating a trusting, loving atmosphere - with plenty of cuddles, affection, and attentive care - while ensuring your dog gets the exercise and companionship they need (and I happily welcome the extra fresh air while working from home!). 🐾

Information Melanie C. would like to know about your pet

It would be wonderful to learn as much as possible about any special needs your pet may have so I can be fully prepared in advance and provide the best possible care. As I live with my partner, I’m best suited to pets who are comfortable and settled in a home environment, including sleeping in their own bed or crate throughout the night. For everyone’s safety and comfort, I’m unfortunately unable to board pets with strong escaping tendencies or signs of aggressive behaviour. 🐾

A typical day

A typical day with me is calm, cosy, and full of attention. I love petting and cuddling animals, and if they enjoy it too, they’re very welcome to curl up on my lap while I work from home. Throughout the day, we’ll take breaks for fresh air and a relaxing walk in one of the many nearby parks, followed by a little playtime for fun and stress relief. On weekends, I often go on longer walks, giving pets even more opportunity to explore, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors. 🐾

Pet care experience

🎁 New to Rover? You can use my promo code MELANC83945 to get £30 off your first booking with me. 🐾 Hello there! I’m Melanie - a young professional and Oxford graduate. I’ve always loved animals, and it would be my pleasure to care for your pets. As I occasionally work from home, I’m able to offer additional companionship and supervision on the days I’m at home. I also have a small fenced garden for quick outdoor needs and easy access to lovely walking routes including Angel & Greyhound Meadow, South Park and Headington Hill Park, which are all just around the corner. As I live with my partner, I’m best suited to dogs who are house-trained, settled overnight, and comfortable sleeping in their own bed or crate if needed. For everyone’s safety and wellbeing, I’m unfortunately not the right fit for dogs who show signs of aggression, have a history of biting, or have a tendency to escape or bolt. I’m also happy to adapt to pets with additional needs when discussed in advance. I have experience caring for senior dogs and supporting pets with needs such as administering medication, providing extra patience and reassurance, or adapting routines to suit their individual requirements. Depending on the level of care required, pricing may vary slightly to ensure your pet receives the attention and dedicated care they deserve. Your pets will be treated with genuine care, patience, and lots of affection — I look forward to meeting them! 🐾

Melanie took great care of Jax for the few days he stayed with her! I received lots of updates and he was clearly very happy and comfortable. I'd definitely be happy to book with Melanie again sometime.

Melanie was excellent with Monty (my 6 month old lab). 10 mins after dropping him off she sent me some pics and updated me that he was settling in just fine. This was v appreciated as our first time leaving him with a stranger! When I picked him up he was barely even excited to see me which shows he had a fab time haha. I felt very safe leaving him in her capable hands and next time I’m in Oxford and need in need of a sitter Melanie will be my first port of call! ☺️

Melanie looked after our 18m dog for the weekend. She was kind and patient in settling her in her crate at night and ensuring she was comfortable. Mochi had some lovely walks with Melanie, play and cosy time on the sofa. Although Mochi hasn’t stayed away from us much, we felt happy leaving her with Melanie and she was very well cared for.

Mochi is very happy to stay with Melanie, she had a lovely walk and playtime. Melanie was very helpful with the late notice booking and late evening collection. Thank you :)
