I’ve grown up with and taken care of dogs my whole life. For the last five years (post undergrad), I have been professionally pet sitting on and off to be around animals, which I love. I have experience providing care for multiple dogs or pets simultaneously, caring for a wide variety of dog and cat breeds, and for animals with various needs and behaviors including: pets with medications, injured pets, reactive dogs, partially deaf or blind pets, pets with strict walking and feeding schedules, pets with specific hygiene needs, and reinforcing basic training commands and reinforcing leash training.

I have a majority of my pet care experience in house sitting and caring for pets in their own homes. I am organized and cleanly as a house guest. I like to keep your pets company and provide them care and lots of love but also assist with home needs such as basic cleaning and tidying, plant maintenance, collecting mail and packages, etc. I am a reliable and safe driver (a perfect driving record- no tickets or accidents!) with a reliable car who can act quickly and care for your pet in the case of an emergency or transport them anywhere for appointments or plans in their schedule.

Melanie is awesome! She took great care of our two dogs while we were away for a long weekend. She provided daily updates and lots of pictures. The dogs were clearly well cared for and got plenty of exercise. She went above and beyond taking care of things in the house and yard as well. We would definitely leave the dogs in her thoughtful and attentive care in the future!

Melanie was such a fabulous house and dog sitter. She kept us up to date daily with the activities and adventures they went on along with pictures sent where the dogs looked to be having the best time. She kept and left the house super clean, which was such a relief to come home to. Anyone would be lucky to have her doggy/house sit. Highly recommend!! 💕
Melanie was by far the best pet sitter we’ve ever had! She was punctual, caring, gentle, sweet, and flexible. Our sweet old pup was SO happy when we came home! She obviously had gotten attention and cuddles (pretty much all she desires out of life!). It was our first time leaving our 10 year old rescue dog that we adopted last year with someone else, so I was nervous and neurotic af! She was a nice calm presence for both me and our dog. She provided adorable pictures and responded right away to my messages. I cannot recommend Melanie enough!
We loved hosting Melanie and would gladly have her again! Our family went on a day trip, and our senior dog (16 years old) needed a companion and dog walker during our time away. Melanie was kind enough to do a meet and greet before the sit, so that our dog was familiar with her prior to the sit. She noted all of the care that he would need (feeding time, walk, potty breaks, etc.) She sent notes, photos, and kept us up-to-date throughout the day.

Schedule
I currently am in between work so I have lots of flexibility for scheduling. If there are specific needs for your pets, including timing of their routines, please let me know. I typically have plenty of availability for long walks, hikes, or play time.
