Mel's Maine Pet Care
I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have cared for pets my entire life. We share our home with our playful black Lab, Caymus—he’s friendly, active, and loves making new fur friends. My husband and I are both ultrarunners, so Caymus joins us on trail runs and hikes regularly—he keeps up better than we do, even at 8 years old! I specialize in providing safe, attentive care that follows your pet’s normal routine—whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit, or just keeping them company while you’re away. We live on 2 peaceful acres at the end of a dead-end road, offering a calm, quiet setting for dogs who stay with us. While we don’t have a fenced yard, we use an invisible fence for our own dog and closely supervise all outside time. Visiting dogs are always supervised outdoors, and I’m happy to follow your individual instructions—whether that means leash walks, yard time, or a combination that fits your pet’s needs. Please note: all dogs must be up to date on vaccinations for boarding. We don’t host cats in our home, but I’m happy to provide drop-in visits for cats at your home.

Mel is the best! She took such great care of my dog, Pearl, during walks. Pearl loved Mel as evidenced by her wagging tail and excitement every time Mel came to pick her up.
Mel was great with our dog. Tucker is very wary of strangers, but Mel was able to charm him and make him feel comfortable.
Mel is wonderful with Millie ! Millie is so excited to get her belly rubs and go for walks with Mel ! Her communication is excellent. So glad we found Mel on Rover 😊

What can I say? Mel is a life saver!!! She joined our crew when we got a puppy. She is reliable, responsible, a great communicator, excellent with dogs (obviously). Can’t recommend highly enough.
Mel took excellent care of our kitty while we were away. He can be a bit much to get along with, but relaxed with Mel right away, and was as content as could be when we arrived home. I highly recommend Mel.

Schedule
I work remotely just a few hours each week, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet care throughout the weekdays and some weekends. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or boarding, I’m available to provide reliable, loving care that fits your pet’s needs. Pet care blends perfectly into my routine—it’s something I truly enjoy and look forward to each day.
