Pet care comes first before my routine. I build it into my morning ritual like I would with my own pets! It is important to me to keep an animal on or near its usual routine. I do work at an animal hospital and work 12 hr shifts. Please ask if you have any questions.

Safety, trust & environment
I keep an eye out on the pet, check-in with them regularly, always use proper leash/collars for pet and know they are secure before leaving the home for walks, I always avoid other animals when I have a client’s pet with me (you never know what could happen!) Also with my vet assistant experience, I have experienced many illnesses… I can spot symptoms or irregularities in behavior or attitude and know if something should be addressed.

Personality, if they have separation anxiety, any bite history, if anything bothers them, how they do on walks, if they have medications, how they do with other people/kids/animals, and their general history (adopted, etc)!
A typical day
Training activites, walking at parks or in town, playing with any of their favorite toys... it differs with each dog and their personality. Some are higher energy than others and need more stimulus!

Pet care experience
Hello! I am an experienced pet lover. From reptile to equine, from cats to dogs! I can handle any pet. I currently work at an animal ER/speciality hospital in ER/Nursing. I have been in the field for 5+ years now. I do work long shifts (12hr) so we will need to discuss you and your pet‘s needs. I am a former volunteer of the Humane Society of Allen County (before it became the OSPCA). I volunteered for 3 years. In those years I helped with adoption aide, care tech (cleaning kennels and cages), volunteer coordinator, dog training, and clinic aide. I have worked at grooming/boarding/daycare facilities for multiple years. I want to get into the business more myself. I enjoy working with animals, but more one-on-one situations. I have noticed animals becoming lonely or bored in boarding-type situations and desire to prevent such stress from happening. ☺️ I graduated from SCF with my Associates, in school for my Bachelors… majoring in psychology and moving into neuroscience. I'm also an artist, so if you need any pet (or people) portraits done, feel free to ask me about it!
Reviews

Another great experience with Meghan! Roody, our very energetic dog, was well exercised with his frisbee and was clearly loved by Meghan during her overnight stay. Meghan was great about updates, photos and following our instructions. Highly recommend Meghan for pet/house sitting :-)

Meghan was AMAZING! She took great care of our dog, Roody, and was so gracious and conscientious while she stayed at our home. We will definitely use Meghan again!
Meghan N. cancelled a booking 3 days before it was scheduled to begin.

Meghan is very professional, patient and compassionate.
