Pet care experience

Dog loving scientist

I have loved dogs since I was a little girl and have been asking for one since I could speak. While I have never had my own dog, I was the main source of dog sitting/walking for my neighbors and family friends growing up. I have now been using Rover for a few years--on and off through college, and more consistently since the pandemic--through which I have gained considerable experience and established an excellent reputation as a pet care provider. I believe pets are part of the family, and I will treat your pets as if they were members of my own. I very much appreciate the opportunity to care for your dog(s), and I look forward to potentially doing so!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

Your pets will be adored and meticulously cared for in your absence. I will follow all care instructions provided (I love it when owners leave me with detailed care instructions to reference as needed throughout the booking). I aim to keep their "day-to-day" as normal as possible and ensure your pets are comfortable in your absence. I have experience with many differently-tempered dogs, from runners and escape artists to incredibly shy or more aggressive dogs. Given this range of experience, my pet care style tends to be more cautious. For example, I prefer to keep dogs leashed (unless there is a fenced-in yard), and I tend to avoid other dogs and strangers while on walks, even with the friendliest dogs, just out of an abundance of caution. Most importantly, though, I will love your pets like they're my own!

Megan did really well with our high energy pup Ellie! We are grateful that she was able to give her lots of playing time, and Ellie bonded with her quickly. Our cats were comfortable with her as well. Thanks so much Megan!

Megan was awesome! She stayed with our dog Otto at our house for two nights. She sent frequent updates and photos, which reassured us that Otto was happy and comfortable while we were gone. Thank you to Megan for making it a great weekend for Otto!

Schedule

I work full-time at the University of New England and typically need to be on campus from 9-5, which makes mid-day visits a little complicated. There are definitely days when I can take a long lunch to run over for a quick walk, but there are other days when I physically cannot leave campus. Therefore, generally speaking, I would not be a great match for pets who cannot be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I know my availability is quite limited, especially compared to other providers in the area, but I would love to help care for your pets whenever I'm available to do so. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you are in need of pet care (either now or in the future); I would be more than happy to discuss the specifics of my availability and work on a case-by-case basis to find a way to help you and your pets out! I am currently interested in taking clients with older or lower-energy dogs who would be satisfied just having a laid-back weekend hanging out with me.
