Availability

I currently have a flexible schedule during the week. I am available mornings-early evenings (8am-7pm) and do 30 minute walks/drop-ins. I work in 2 hour time frames (ex. 9-11am, 3-5pm, etc.) This means that I will visit your pup for 30 minutes during that time frame, rather than at a particular time. These time frames allow for more flexibility on my end. And I will always give you an update at the end of a visit :)

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I treat each dog as if they were my own. As stated above, I want your pet to feel safe and comfortable around me. Building trust is key to them feeling secure with me. I will follow their routine and always be aware of our surroundings during walks or in the backyard. I am familiar with many breeds and their specific behaviors and needs, including Bulldogs, Dachshunds, Hounds, and Toy breeds. I also understand some rescue dogs require a little more time to warm up, and I am happy to patiently and slowly build that trust with them.

Information Megan S. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors I can account for. Disclosure of behaviors is especially important for me to know before I enter the home and when I take your pet for a walk to keep both us and others safe. Behaviors include; slow to warm up, attempts to run out the door when someone walks in, food aggression, toy aggression, dog aggression, and triggers. Please let me know if your pet requires medication, needs mobility assistance such as walking up/down the stairs, or has food allergies. I typically carry freeze dried liver treats with me, but please let me know beforehand if your pup cannot eat them.

A typical day

I enjoy playing with dogs, such as tug of war, fetch, or chasing each other around the yard! I also enjoy sitting down with pups who aren’t as energetic and just want some love :) I can feed your pup if needed and I’ll always check their water bowl and ensure they have fresh, clean water before I go!

Pet care experience

**SUMMER WALKS ONLY (I am currently in grad school and off from school until the end of August)** Hi there! My name is Megan, and I can’t wait to meet your furry family member! I have over four years of experience walking and sitting dogs. I have cared for dogs of various sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments. Besides walking, I enjoy spending quality time with each dog I visit, including playing, running around the backyard, or just keeping them company and giving them scratches as they relax :) It is very important that your dog feels comfortable around me and sees me as a safe and trusting person! Additionally, I have past experience working as a dog bather and a receptionist at a veterinarian’s office.

Megan was very kind, sweet & professional. She came to feed & give our dog Luke a bathroom break while hubs & I enjoyed a date night. I would absolutely use her services again if we needed care for our boy.

Megan was so great with my dog! She very kindly agreed to do a meet and greet with my pup, he’s a rescue and can sometimes take a bit to warm up to others. He immediately loved her, no question about it. Megan showed up on time everyday and took care of Balboa with the instructions I provided her. She provided me peace of mind that my baby boy was taken care of while I was away! She sent me pictures of Balboa playing in the backyard, which I appreciated.

Megan was great with my ginormous Great Dane puppy, Finn. She took him on walks and played with him and I know she took great care of him because he was calm and happy when I arrived home from work. She sent adorable pictures and a detailed report of the visits. I highly recommend her!
