Pet care experience

Be who your dog thinks you are

I have had some of the absolute best boys and best girls in the world since the day I was born, and some of them I even witnessed be born. I have helped in the training of all of our pups (17 altogether over the course of 3 decades), whether they were weeks old, or just wanting to learn some new tricks as they ease into their golden years. Unfortunately, their lifespan is nowhere near as long as they deserve, and so having lots of pets usually means losing lots of pets. I’m honored to have been able to take care of many aging “forever-puppies,” several terminally ill, and several up until the impressive healthy old age of 18-20. My family’s most recent furry members both just passed in April of 2024. They were brother and sister from the same litter, with sweet and hilarious personalities, though so different. We watched them come into the world, helped raise and train them alongside their siblings, and had countless adventures with those two. Let me tell you, they were really the best boy and girl you could ever meet. For almost fourteen sweet, cuddly years, we road-tripped, hiked, camped, swam, and played all over Hawaii and Colorado together. They were both simultaneously diagnosed with cancer, and both went downhill quickly. I miss them every day, but the love that they left me with has let me share it with every other beautiful, smart, silly, and adorably-squishy creature I meet. My love for all animals is innate, but there is just something about the unique brand of love that a dog gives away so freely.

Megan is wonderful! She is very responsive and was able to help care for a service dog, when a patient was too sick to take care of her. We will definitely call her again in the future.

Megan responded quickly, showed up to meet my dog and for the walk on time, and was very friendly. Unfortunately she brought her young children to my house for the walk despite being told my dog is scared of kids. She left them unattended in my house while she walked my dog which was not pre-approved or ever discussed. May not be the best walker for someone who had a not child-proofed house of a dog scared of kids.

Schedule

I am a stay-at-home mom, and my schedule is pretty flexible. If we are planning any sort of family outing for longer than a day trip, we typically know months in advance. I love being outdoors in all the seasons, and love hiking, especially with a fun-loving pup by my side!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a large fenced yard in a neighborhood where there is no direct contact with any other dogs, such as sharing a fence. We are happy to crate your dog if you prefer, but otherwise we don’t mind a behaved dog roaming around the house with us. We have two daughters (4 and 6) who are very gentle, patient, and loving to every living creature. They’ve grown up with two 70+ pound dogs, so not only are they unfazed by the occasional enthusiastic tail-thump to the face, but they are also well-versed in animal behaviors and know when to give space.

Pets

A typical day

We live close to a nature path and a park, and love to spend time running through and rolling around in the grass, while taking in all the fascinating smells of the neighborhood. Cuddles and belly rubs are a must, and depending on what your pawrent approves, might even go on some little adventures— like romping around the foothills, or playing fetch at the dog park!

Please let me know if your dog has any medical/health needs, or behavioral issues. If your dog is at-all aggressive towards children, then I am unable to care for your pet. I am happy to administer oral medications during their stay, and I’ll do my best to accommodate any special requests you might have!
