Information Megan R. would like to know about your pet
I’d love the chance to meet your pet with you before caring for them. I understand that’s not always possible, and I’m flexible to your situation—but above all, it’s important that we all feel confident in our care agreement. I’ve never met a pet I didn’t like, though sometimes personalities simply don’t mesh, and that’s okay. What matters most is that your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well-cared for while you’re away.
A typical day
I enjoy walks, playtime, cuddle time, and interactive activities tailored to each pet—whether that’s fetch, toys, or simply keeping them company in whichever way they love the most.

Pet care experience
As the daughter of a pet-sitting business owner and veterinary technician, I’ve been caring for animals from an early age. With over 10 years of experience working alongside my mother and in veterinary offices across Northern Virginia, I’ve learned that every pet is unique and deserves individualized care. Before moving back to Northern Virginia in 2023, I also owned a successful pet-sitting business in St. Croix, USVI. My own pets have taught me a lot as well—my pit mix, Bella, survived both a fighting-breed environment and Hurricane Maria, and my two rescue bassets struggled with separation anxiety, as well as our Moluccan cockatoo we raised from a nestling. Those experiences reinforced the importance of patience, empathy, and consistency. I’m a non-smoker, organized, and detail-oriented. I’m also available for last-minute needs and those holiday plans that sometimes run longer than expected. Above all, I take this work seriously and will care for your pet with the same love I give my own. 🐾🖤
Reviews

Megan once again did a great job taking care of Cyrus and Willow this past weekend. While they were happy to see us when we returned, it was equally clear that they thoroughly enjoyed their time with Megan. She sent us regular updates and videos so we were kept up-to-date with no worries whatsoever. And it was clear our dogs enjoyed their time outside with her, playing ball and chilling in the sun. An added plus is that our home was just as neat when we came home as when we left!

This was our first experience using Rover to find someone to watch our 10 year old German Shepherd and 3 year old Malamute mix for an extended period of time (one week). We are so happy that we found Megan! She made time to meet the dogs before house sitting, including going on a walk with us. Megan was very professional and pleasant in all of our communications and it was obvious to us that she really knows, and loves, dogs. She kept in daily touch, sending plenty of pictures and videos so that we could see how our dogs were doing and it was so obvious that they were thoroughly enjoying their time with Megan. An added bonus is that Megan kept our house neat, tidy, and clean which we really appreciated. We will definitely ask Megan to watch our dogs when we are out of town in the future!
I am a Lic. Veterinary Nurse and have had many dogs, cats and birds in the past. Megan has helped to care for all off them. She has also worked for me & with me in the past 10+ years. My clients and work colleagues complimented her many times during that period. She can definitely care for all types of pets in a caring loving way. She was always very dependable and more organized than myself.
Megan was the perfect match for my two gremlins. I have a sheltie mix names Sam, and a german shepherd mix named Timber and they couldn't be more different. Megan was able to cater perfectly to both. Timber got all her exercise and Sam got all his cuddle time on the couch. She sent me updates and pictures via text which made me so happy to see my guys having fun. To top it off, I swear my house was cleaner when I returned then when I left. It makes it so much easier to enjoy vacations when you know your pups are taken care of. Now I never plan a vacation without coordinating with Megan first!
