Pet care experience
Here to care for your beloved pups!
I started taking care of other people's dogs around the age of 20 (I'm currently 38). I have walked, brushed (coat and teeth), bathed, groomed, nail clipped, and medicated dogs of different breeds, ages and sizes. I am currently a pet parent to a 2 year old Bernedoodle who has food allergies and requires daily walks and mental stimulation. I got my pup at 2 months old and continue to instill training and promoting best behaviours as he ages. Especially in summer, (but also year-round anytime there are no weather warnings) we take walks around the neighbourhood or at one of the local dog parks. I am plenty used to leashing, picking up poop, etc. I also have a fully fenced backyard that is perfect for daily bathroom breaks or outdoor play. My dog LOVES other dogs and really enjoys playing with them, however he shows respect towards older dogs who aren't as playful and is gentle with younger or smaller pups with less world experience. He is fixed, vaccinated and is well behaved at Doggy Daycare and at the dog parks.

Excellent care received for my pups 🐾

This was our second time having Megan look after our cat Harvey and he was once again in great hands, we cannot recommend Megan enough as a pet sitter!

Always great quality care every visit, attention to detail, extra TLC for my high maintenance Cooper. A Loving, welcoming home.

Megan is fantastic to work with and made our first trip away from our cat Harvey much easier for us as we knew he was well taken care of. She sent regular updates and photos, making the whole experience worry-free. We’ve already booked her again for an upcoming holiday and recommend her to everyone seeking quality pet care and peace of mind while away from home.

We were very nervous as this was our first time to leave our dog. Megan was amazingly patient with both of us and the dog and he seemed to have a really good visit with her. We will definitely book again with Megan.

Calendar and availability
Schedule
During the winter season, I may have to cancel walks due to unreasonable weather conditions. Usually -30 temperatures, or extreme amounts of snowfall with uncleared sidewalks. Apologies in advance. Aside from appointments, general errands and social arrangements, I am at home during the day. My pup and I usually enjoy mornings in our enclosed veranda or in the backyard (weather permitting). Depending on the day, we usually take our walk/dog park visit in the afternoon. I kennel my dog at night, but not during the day. This is mostly to allow my cat to eat and use her litter box in peace in the mornings. I care for a friend's pup once a week and also take in my dogs little sister (owned by my brother and sister in law) about once a month. Other than when I'm traveling I am often available for boarding, daycare, or walks.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Here at my home, I have a two year old bernedoodle that LOVES other dogs and really enjoys playing with them. If you are hiring me for dog walking, I would have my dog along with yours. I have a fully fenced backyard, I am not afraid of dirt, mud, or dirty dogs in general. I don't allow dogs on the furniture/couches, but my living room has an area rug and a dog bed. I harness/buckle dogs if they are in my vehicle. Because I have a cat as well, your dog MUST have experience with cats, either living with one or multiple interactions with cats throughout its life that have gone well. My cat is very vocal and will not hesitate to hiss or growl to warn a dog away, but she is so gentle and will not bite or claw at dogs... she might be too trusting which is why I cannot risk her safety if you are unsure about how your dog is with cats.
Pets
A typical day
Most dogs are too busy playing with my dog to care about other activities. However, if your pup is less playful i can provide toys, puzzles, walks around the neighborhood or at the dog park (providing your dog has decent recall), and in summer visits to Furdale beach if approved by owner.
