Cat and dog lover! Over 15 years experience in dog training, horse training and vet med. I’m a big fan of positive reinforcement, play based training, and equal partnership with the animal. I currently have a credential in force-free dog training, and am continuing coursework in advanced behavior training. I grew up providing active care for both dogs and cats. In my adult life, I a sweet beagle named Cannoli! He is a happy pup and we enjoy doing dog sports together- including scent work, rally, stunt training, and trick training. He has titles in AKC canine good citizen, scentwork, trick and fitness. I love being able to provide him enrichment through fun training experiences and games. I also regularly help with care for my family and friends' pets, including my parents' cat, Olive. I work hard to make sure the animals in my care get only the best. I have extremely high standards for my own dog. I’ll be sure to treat your cat or dog as I would mine. ❤️ I completed two veterinary internships and worked as a vet assistant. My degree is in Animal Science from USU. I taught four years of animal science and vet science classes at the high school level. I am a believer in continuing to learn best practices when taking care of animals. I love to learn about dog training and regularly take my dog to classes that teach effective R+ methods. I also have shadowed many different dog trainers so I am well versed in a a variety of methods, as well as have completed a force-free certification program. Please let me know if there are any training details or procedures you’d like me to follow to keep your pup on track! I love providing game and play based activities, enrichment and training, so please let me know if you’d be interested in that during your booking! Currently, I do work full time but I do have some availability throughout the day, especially in mornings, late afternoons, evenings and weekends. I would love to give your pet the love and attention that I would give my own!

Safety, trust & environment
I believe in being educated and observant, and preventing problems before they become problems. I have found in my many years of animal keeping (dogs, cats, horses, goats) that the best way to prevent issues is by being observant. I will carefully watch for any issues before they become an issue. During walks, I believe in keeping dogs on leash and in areas where I can be in control to guarantee that your pet will have a safe and happy experience. I will NOT do on leash greetings with your pet.

Megan was fantastic! She made my cat feel safe and loved on her. She even caught a mistake I had with the insulin needles I ordered and was able to go over an extra time to just check and see how my cat was doing. Megan sent detailed updates and pictures of my cat while I was gone! I will absolutely book Megan in the future and highly suggest you book her for your pets care.

Schedule
I do work full time, much of which is in the office each day. Early mornings, late afternoons, evenings and weekends are best. Reach out with your needs and let’s see if we can make it all work!

- Please disclose if your dog has any health or reactivity issues. Reactivity can be a lot for a pup! I want to be sure that I can provide the environment your dog needs and will be happy in! If your are working on any particular training, please inform me so I can keep your pup in the same training routine. I understand the need to be consistent. My methods are primarily rewards based/positive reinforcement, so if possible, I’d love to bring treats or toys on our walks if we are maintaining any specific training protocols.
