Pet care is a central part of my daily life. As a part-time professional dog walker, I structure my days around providing consistent, quality care for the dogs I work with. Home Life: I'm already maintaining daily pet care routines—feeding schedules, exercise, playtime, grooming, and health monitoring. This keeps me constantly engaged with animal behavior and needs, making it natural to extend that same attentive care to your pets. Guide Dogs for the Blind Commitment: My ongoing work as a puppy raiser has taught me the importance of consistency and structure. I'm accustomed to maintaining training routines, keeping detailed records, and being fully present and engaged during all pet interactions. Availability & Flexibility: Because pet care is my priority, I plan my schedule around animal needs rather than trying to fit them in around other commitments. I have the time and dedication to provide reliable, stress-free care whether it's daily walks, overnight boarding, or drop-in visits.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and trust are my top priorities in every pet care situation. Through my training with Guide Dogs for the Blind, I've learned to create secure, structured environments where dogs feel calm and confident. In Your Home: When caring for pets in your home, I maintain their established routines to minimize stress and anxiety. I ensure all doors, windows, and gates are securely closed, keep harmful items out of reach, and follow your specific instructions carefully. I stay attentive to your pet's behavior and comfort level throughout our time together. In My Home: My home is fully pet-proofed with secure fencing and no hazardous materials accessible to animals. I keep dogs separated during initial introductions if boarding multiple pets, and I supervise all interactions to ensure everyone's safety and comfort. I maintain a clean, calm environment with designated spaces where pets can relax. For All Services: I keep detailed notes on each pet's behavior, eating habits, and any concerns. I'm experienced with administering medications and following specific care instructions. In case of emergency, I know the nearest 24-hour vet clinic and will contact you immediately. I always use secure leashes and harnesses during walks, stay alert to surroundings, and avoid situations that could put pets at risk. Your pet's safety and wellbeing are never compromised, and I treat every animal with the same care and responsibility I give my own.

Information Megan K. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I'll need to know a few key details to ensure their safety and comfort: Health & Safety: Any medical conditions, medications, allergies, or dietary restrictions. Your vet's contact information and what to do in an emergency. Daily Routine: Feeding times and amounts, bathroom schedule, exercise needs, and typical bedtime routine. Behavior & Personality: How they are with strangers, other animals, and new situations. Any fears, anxiety triggers, or behavioral quirks I should be aware of. Commands & Boundaries: What commands they respond to, house rules (furniture, rooms, etc.), and leash behavior during walks. Knowing these details ahead of time helps me provide the best possible care and keeps your pet happy, healthy, and stress-free while you're away!
A typical day
During our time together, your dog will enjoy a comfortable routine designed around their needs and happiness. Morning: We'll start the day with a refreshing walk to get some exercise and take care of business. After the walk, it's breakfast time followed by some playtime or relaxation, depending on your pup's energy level. Midday: Your dog will have plenty of time for rest, play, and indoor activities. I'll make sure they have fresh water, bathroom breaks as needed, and lots of attention throughout the day. Afternoon/Evening: We'll head out for a second walk to stretch their legs and explore the neighborhood. This is followed by dinner and wind-down time with cuddles, gentle play, or whatever helps your pup feel most content. Throughout the day, I'll keep your dog's routine as close to their normal schedule as possible, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and well-cared for while you're away.

As a professional dog walker and dedicated puppy raiser with Guide Dogs for the Blind, I bring both daily hands-on experience and specialized training to every dog in my care. My work with Guide Dogs for the Blind has given me advanced skills in positive reinforcement training, behavior management, and creating structured routines that help dogs thrive. I currently work part-time as a dog walker, which keeps me active with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. From high-energy puppies to calm senior dogs, I know how to match each dog's exercise needs and personality with the right approach. Having raised three golden retrievers of my own, I understand the deep bond between dogs and their families. I'm experienced with leash training, socialization, administering medications, and maintaining consistent routines. Whether your dog needs an energetic adventure, gentle exercise, or someone who can reinforce their training, I provide reliable, compassionate care that gives you complete peace of mind. Your dog will receive the same love, attention, and professional care I give to every pup I work with.

Reviews

Megan was fantastic with Finn! Truly went above and beyond with giving his medications, cleaning his ears since they were itchy, and take him on fun adventures. He had so much fun and felt right at home :) thank you Megan!!

She takes such good care of our dogs!

Megan was great to work with, sending great updates, asking questions, and being flexible about pickup and drop off times. Will definitely have Tuck stay with her again.
