I don’t accept pets from different families at the same time, and when I take on caring for your pet, that is my full time job. My dogs tend to like to run errands with me, when weather permits, so your pet is welcome to join, or they are all also welcome to hang inside my home while I am out. I am never gone for longer than 2 hours at a time, and I am yet to leave my dogs outside in the yard when away with all the wildlife around… I adjust to whatever your pet is most used to when they are in their own home.

Information Megan W. would like to know about your pet

The most important factor to me before taking responsibility of a pet is to know their history. Allergies, medications, temperament and past incidents. It is important to inform me of what not only makes your dog happy, but also, what makes them nervous or scared in any way. The more info the better! I do require a meet and greet before the dog sitting period begins. I have watched many very nervous rescue dogs that have had complete turnarounds once they realize they are safe and feel secure, I think it may have something to do with knowing that once they become friends with Jefe, they know they are safe, it has been pretty amazing to watch! Don’t be hesitant to reach out, even if your pup is nervous :)

A typical day

With the beautiful and ultra safe yard I am blessed to have here on the property, they can run and play as much as their heart desires! I am a little hesitant to explore the trail system here quite yet as I need to educate myself a little more on the bears I keep hearing stories about in the surrounding area! My boy Jefe loves being able to run around off leash outside our fenced area and really stretch out for running in our mowed grassy area outside the fence. Jefe still loves playing with his toys, his absolute favorite is being chased by me or his dog friends while he plays keep away with one of his toys.

Pet care experience

With a lifelong passion for animals and decades of hands-on experience with personalized pet care, you can rest assured your pet is in great hands while you are away! I have been a show jumping horse trainer for most of my life, and caring for client’s pets while they were away just fell into place! From horses and dogs to a wide variety of different types of pets, I bring my knowledge, empathy, and commitment to every animal. After years of caring for many “regulars” in Santa Barbara, CA while their owners were away, I recently relocated to Roxbury, CT, where I offer high-quality, attentive care in a safe and serene environment. My property spans over three manicured acres, with more than one acre fully fenced and wired—complete with automatically closing gates—providing a secure, pet-friendly space for dogs to play, explore, and relax under supervision. Whether providing in-home pet care, or hosting animals on my property, I treat every pet as if they were my own—with love, patience, and respect. I look forward to meeting new pets and their owners here in CT!

I couldn't have left our dogs with anyone better! Megan took all three of ours for several nights, as we hosted our daughter's wedding and reception at our home. From start to finish, she was responsive, clear, easy to communicate with... AND absolutely wonderful with the dog! I am so thankful for this site and for finding Megan. Thank you!!!

Gus loves staying with Megan! She does such a great job taking care of him-always sending photos and videos so I know what’s going on, quick to respond to texts, and most importantly, I can tell she genuinely cares for my puppy.

Megan took fantastic care of our 14 week mini australian shepherd puppy, Riley. He had the best time playing with her pups, it was like puppy summer camp. She was very conscientious of our being nervous about leaving him for the first time overnight and kept us constantly updated. We will absolutely use her services again.
