Pet care experience

Experienced dog foster + pet sitter

Megan is primarily the care taker, but during in home care Lucas (my husband) is providing care as well. Together we have fostered of 35+ dogs of varying ages. We have experience with puppies as young as 7 weeks old all the way up to senior dogs. We are experienced with nervous dogs coming out of a shelter off a 6+ hour car ride, so we can handle all types of dogs. We own two resident standard poodles, Mac & Mowgli, who love other dogs. They've gotten along with all of our fosters and we do slow introductions, our dogs are never alone with visiting dogs without supervision. We both work hybrid jobs and can be home when dog sitting for a majority of the time. We do require dogs be crate trained and house trained (with the exception of puppies and seniors). Megan offers 10+ years of experience in dog care starting with her volunteer time at the Indy Humane society, college volunteer at a rescue organization where she started to dog sit on Rover, doggy daycare experience and owner of 2 dogs.

Megan is AMAZING! I reached out to her at the last minute when my previous sitter cancelled on me the night before I was supposed to leave. She was able to meet to go over all of the care instructions for my dog with medical issues and then begin the stay at the same time. Her flexibility and communication is incredible and I felt so comfortable leaving both of my babies with her.

Megan was the absolute best! We have two rescues, one of which is very particular with who he is willing to trust. Megan was calm when she came to meet them, and I think that calmness put him at ease as he had minimal barking. She offered to do a drop in as a test before our trip and took pictures and kept us updated through that as well as our trip. I’m pretty sure my dogs like her more than us after their weekend together! 100/10 recommend booking!

Megan is incredible. She is so kind & sent updates daily. Rogue is a little special around certain dogs and she navigated his quirks perfectly. 10/10 recommend.

Megan was so great watching my giant often unruly puppy over 4 nights! She is communicative, thoughtful, and clearly really cares about the dog she is watching. I wasnt worried at all with Megan as she was great with updates and my pup had a fun time. Megan is everything I want in a dogsitter, I would definitely use her again, and I would highly recommend her! Thanks again, Megan.

Schedule

We both work hybrid so can schedule our remote days when we have visiting dogs. We already walk our dogs 2-3 times a day so adding additional dogs is just extra hands.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

We have a 6ft fenced yard where dogs will be let out with supervision. We have multiple areas we can gate off if the dogs need a break from each other (did you know even if dogs are playing it's good to separate them for breaks to prevent altercations?). We do require crate trained dogs so you know your dog will be safe when we do leave them home. Our dogs are never left alone with visiting dogs without supervision. We also do all meal times in separate rooms.

Pets

A typical day

We love to hike and take our visiting dogs with us. We also believe the best way to tire out dogs is walking (or running if they've run before). We live near bear creek park and love to take our water dogs to play in the river.

I would only like to know if the dog is house trained and if he/she gets along with other dogs. We also do typically require crate training but are open to discussion. We do require vaccination records for in-home dog care (rabies, DHPP, and bordatella). This is to protect our resident dogs.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
