Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I work from home Monday–Friday. Your dog will have consistent companionship throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long periods. During the day, dogs are free to relax, play, and interact with our friendly 2-year-old lab mix. We also incorporate daily walks and outdoor playtime (weather permitting), along with plenty of attention, affection, and structured routine. Because I’m home, I’m able to closely monitor each dog’s needs and adjust care to ensure they feel comfortable, engaged, and right at home. Then when my husband and daughter are not in work or school they will help care for your dogs and play with them.

Safety, trust & environment

In our home, we strive to create a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every dog in our care. We have a fully fenced yard where dogs can play, explore, and get plenty of exercise in a secure space. Inside, dogs are treated like part of the family—free to relax, play, and enjoy a calm, structured routine. We can accommodate crate training if your dog is used to it or needs a safe space while we’re briefly away from home. We pay close attention to each dog’s individual needs, whether that’s extra playtime, a quieter environment, or a consistent routine, so they feel secure and at home during their stay.

Information Megan & David S. would like to know about your pet

Before your pet’s stay, it’s very important for us to understand their individual needs so we can provide the best care possible. Please let us know if your dog has any special requirements, medical conditions, or behavioral needs. We also ask that you share details about any medications your dog is currently taking, including dosage and schedule, as well as any allergies, sensitivities, or routines we should follow. Our goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable and cared for as they do at home, and having this information ahead of time helps us do just that!

A typical day

A typical day in our home is full of attention, play, and care! While I work from home, the dogs get to socialize and play together in a relaxed, supervised environment. They’re never short on companionship or activity. On my lunch break, I take the dogs out for a walk so they can stretch their legs, explore, and burn off some energy. Throughout the day, they’ll also enjoy multiple outdoor play breaks (weather permitting), where we spend time playing fetch and letting them run around. We make sure every dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, and love, along with a good balance of playtime and rest so they feel comfortable and happy during their stay.

Where Dogs Feel Right at Home

Pet care experience

What sets us apart is the genuine care and experience we bring to every dog we welcome into our home. My husband and I both grew up with dogs, and before having our daughter, we fostered dogs, which gave us experience with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and needs. We currently have a friendly 2-year-old lab mix, so we’re very familiar with maintaining routines, exercise needs, and positive reinforcement. One of our biggest strengths is working with anxious or shy dogs—we’re patient, attentive, and take the time to build trust at each dog’s pace so they feel safe and comfortable. We treat every dog like part of our family and strive to create a calm, loving environment where they can relax and be themselves.

Great Communication with Megan & David for my 1st time leaving Jackson with a new Rover sitter. I was even welcomed to do a meet and greet that went well. It left me very comfortable leaving Jackson for 5 nights. I received pictures and updates on how he was adjusting. I have already set up some more stays for some trips I have planned. I highly recommend Megan & David for the care of your dog.

Megan and David are amazing! I was so nervous to leave my older girl with her high maintenance health care needs, but I was able to have a relaxing trip knowing she was in good hands. They have a ton of animal care experience and the sweetest dog who was so patient; my girl was able to fit right in with the family. They are quick to respond and gave me daily updates with pictures. I couldn't recommend them enough and hope they are available the next time my pup needs a home away from home.
