Hey there! I moved to Chicago just about two years ago and I’m really loving it here, but still finding my way, establishing myself, and starting a masters program soon. For the past eight years, I've enjoyed working in childcare, pet care, and house-sitting, and built a wonderful network in Texas, but somehow still, the north pulled me up to Chicago! When I'm not taking care of little ones, you can find me painting, writing, or capturing moments through photography. My dog, (who past last April) and I were the best of best friends for an amazing 15 years. I've had the joy of growing up around many other fantastic cats and dogs too, they are truly what makes a house feel like a home. If you need more info, -please- feel free to reach out! I believe that pets are an important part of the family, and I make an effort to care for them so they know they’re appreciated. Their presence contributes positively to our lives, and I reciprocate the affection and respect they offer. My morning routine includes attending to my pets' needs, such as taking them outside, providing food, and offering some gentle interaction before I start my day. I take my dogs for 2-4 walks each day depending on age and physicality. I engage with them throughout the day, sharing updates out loud (yes, I talk to pets. Don’t you?) My evening routine mirrors my morning one, and I prioritize my pets’ care without delay. Before bedtime, I take them outside one last time

Gem was absolutely fabulous from start to finish! She house-sat with my two dogs and two cats for a full week. At the meet-and-greet, she was on time, professional, curious, and exceptionally great with both dogs. My dogs are a bit much -- one is big, old, a little grumpy, and had mobility issues, and the other is young, hyper, and nervous about the world. Gem easily adapted to both and we felt so comfortable leaving them in her hands! Throughout the stay, she sent lots of detailed updates (with pretty photos!) and you could tell by the descriptions that she was truly taking the time to get to know our pets. She keyed in on subtle behaviors and personality quirks. Her updates were so reassuring! The house was cleaner than we left it, mail was brought in, and the animals were all healthy and happy upon our return. Will absolutely hire Gem again in the future, and I fully recommend her as a pet sitter or dog walker!

Meg supported during a very stressful family emergency. She agreed to help on very short notice and freed us up to go to the hospital to stay with our sick loved one. We are so grateful to Meg for quickly jumping in to lend us a hand!
Megan is absolutely wonderful! Not only did she take amazing care of our pup, she also left our home more spotless than when she arrived and helped take care of a lapse in our internet service while we were gone. She is the definition of above and beyond. And such a joy to communicate with! I feel so comforted knowing she was with Bandit and watching over our home.
We’re so thankful to Meg for her attention to detail and excellent communication while we were on an extended road trip. Due to our recent cross country move, our cat was a bit hesitant to socialize, but as a result of Meg’s patience and creativity, Yada came out of her shell! Our dog leans anxious and we’re confident she barely noticed we were gone. Not only that but Meg also left our home in pristine condition. 11/10!
Meg was wonderful! She immediately knelt down to greet our beagle Layla and was so attentive to all of the things I shared about what Layla needs. In fact, we’re having Meg stay with our girls for a longer trip and while we were chatting, Meg referenced the care guide I wrote verbatim. Not only did Layla enjoy her mini adventure with Meg around our neighborhood, but I’m so relieved knowing Meg will be here for both Layla and our cat Yada while we’re roadtripping. I highly recommend booking Meg!
