I’m currently working with dogs and doing pet portraits full time, so I’m able to dedicate a majority of my day to your dog. If your pet is not friendly with dogs, I may take breaks during the day to give my own dog a walk and potty break but the majority of the day can be spent in the house or on adventures!

Safety, trust & environment

I can stay in the clients home to care for your pet while you’re away, or do drop in visits with fulfilling walks to get all the wiggles out and help your pet feel loved. If you would prefer, my own dog can also keep your pet company with a slow introduction but with more nervous guests I can give them plenty of decompression with just a human companion!

Information McKinley L. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or slow introductions. I am more than happy to work with nervous dogs and go at a slower pace so they can be comfortable while you are away!

A typical day

For most dogs a day will include some learning and brain games with food (if desired), two walks per day with a long line and plenty of space to explore as well as space to play at local parks! We can also do training outings to keep up on neutrality and social skills as well as confidence building at parks or pet-friendly stores!

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs since childhood and worked at a boarding and daycare facility for almost two years! I’m skilled at reading dog body language and puppy socialization. I also have a dog and cat first aid certificate from the Red Cross. I can reliably administer medications and vaccines, to keep your pup as safe as possible while you are away! I understand it can be scary to leave your furry family member in the care of another while you are away, but I can guarantee your pup will have a fantastic time with photo and video updates so you can see how they’re doing! I can teach loose leash walking, do long line walks, keep up on training plans/do training outings, and for more nervous dogs give them the opportunity to decompress and reset with new situations. I’m currently apprenticing to be a dog trainer and would love the chance to meet new dogs and am totally willing to work with nervous or reactive pets.

McKinley might be the best dog sitter we've ever had! She was incredibly patient with our shy pup, had great communication, and was beyond helpful when we ran into some travel issues. We can't wait to have her watch Hallie again :)

McKinley is so patient and loving with my nervous vizsla. She really understood my dog and worked hard to slowly gain her trust and now she’s my dogs favorite person! Even preferring her over me 😂. I will always trust McKinley to watch my dog!

I would definitely recommend McKinley! She was super patient and great at communicating with my dog. Also, you can tell she has such a big passion for working with dogs!
