Safety, trust & environment
I care for pets the same way I care for my own dogs. For walks, I always take time to understand your dog’s energy level, walking style, and any quirks they may have so the walk is enjoyable and stress-free. I’m confident handling leashes, especially with large or strong dogs, and I keep walks structured, calm, and safe. I pay close attention to surroundings, other dogs, and weather conditions, and I adjust the pace or route based on what your dog needs that day. In your home, I follow your routine closely and make sure your pet has fresh water, gets settled after the walk, and feels comfortable before I leave. I’ll always send updates and photos so you know how the walk went and that your dog is happy and well cared for.
Information McKenzie J. would like to know about your pet
I like to know as much as possible about a pet ahead of time so I can give them the best care. Things like their energy level, walking style, and any triggers or reactivity are really helpful to know before walks. I also appreciate knowing their routine, feeding schedule (if applicable), favorite routes, and any commands they respond well to. Health needs, medications, allergies, or mobility concerns are important too, along with how they do around other dogs, people, or new environments. The more I know upfront, the smoother and more enjoyable the experience is for your pet—and it helps me keep everything safe, calm, and stress-free.
A typical day
A typical day depends on the dog, but it usually starts with making sure they’re comfortable and ready to get some energy out. For dogs I walk, that means a structured walk tailored to their pace and personality—whether they love a long, brisk walk or prefer something slower with lots of sniff breaks. During walks, I keep things fun and engaging by changing routes when appropriate, letting dogs explore safely, and reinforcing good leash manners. I pay attention to what they enjoy, whether that’s extra movement, mental stimulation, or just a calm, steady walk. If I’m spending more time with a pet, I’ll include playtime, basic command reinforcement, and plenty of attention and affection. I always make sure pets have fresh water, time to decompress afterward, and feel settled before I leave. My goal is for every visit or walk to be a positive, enjoyable part of their day.
