Each animal and owner is unique. I aim to be adaptable and gentle in care. Discipline is also beneficial—let me know any specific callouts or gestures you’d like me to use with your animal (i.e. for “sit”). I may use some on instinct. I can be mindful of socialization needs.

Information McKenzie A. would like to know about your pet

- At your discretion, let me know leash/walking tendencies and needs (chasing, fatigue; distance from other animals, water stops). - Triggers, Allergies, Sicknesses - Location of toys, water, food, treats, bathroom essentials, etc.

A typical day

I tend to sing and hum around animals. Learning their name is a respectful start. I can let them bond over smells, indoor and/or outdoor. Fetch is a classic game to include. And maybe another pet will take on the task of learning hide & seek, tag, or something in between (a former cat of mine enjoyed this).

Pet care experience

I loved fostering with Osceola County Animal Services in 2017 and aiding adoptions with Faithful Friends at a North Florida PetSmart (in 2022). Friends and family have sometimes needed me to be a sitter, too. A value I have, for both people and animals I meet, is for all of them to feel included. When people ask if I’m a dog or a cat person, I respond that I love both. I’ve babysat children as an occupation since September 2022. Skills developed that can apply to Rover from the caregiving experience are alertness, tenderness, self-discipline, and biceps. Older kids loved a game called “elevator” on swings that required all of my strength. I am confident that this has prepared my muscles for dog walking scenarios with larger dogs that could require more assertion and quick responses. And only recently did I learn to love all breeds—even Chihuahuas. My sister showed me the beauty of Sphinxes, the hairless cat breed.

McKenzie is a wonderfully caring person. She has watched my pets multiple times while I was out of town and done an amazing job. She is also a babysitter and takes that same care for someone else’s children and she brings it to my pets and anyone else who needs it. She will treat our pets like our babies the same way we do.

McKenzie and I used to volunteer with a pet rescue, caring for cats and helping them find forever homes. She treated each cat with gentle, compassionate care and attention, making sure to respect each individual's boundaries. McKenzie's patience and kindness would quickly earn the trust of even the most timid cats. She was attentive to each cat's needs and made sure each had a clean environment with ample toys and treats to stay engaged. McKenzie has grown up with animals and has years of experience caring for her family's pets. She will make a wonderful, reliable pet sitter!

I am pleased to offer my strong recommendation for McKenzie Amos as a pet caregiver. I have known McKenzie for over 14 years and have had the opportunity to work closely with her on countless occasions. Throughout the years, she has consistently demonstrated intelligence, reliability, and exceptional attention to detail. McKenzie has a natural ability to care for others, always prioritizing well-being and safety in everything she does. She approaches every responsibility with dedication and takes pride in seeing tasks through to completion, no matter the challenge. Her experience with animals is extensive and hands-on. McKenzie has cared for pets her entire life, including her own cats, as well as fostering cats in need. She has also taken the initiative to feed and look after stray animals, showing both compassion and responsibility. Beyond pet care, she has experience babysitting multiple children at once, further demonstrating her patience, attentiveness, and ability to manage demanding situations with care. McKenzie’s combination of experience, empathy, and strong work ethic makes her an outstanding candidate for any pet caretaker role. I am confident that she will provide safe, attentive, and loving care to any animals entrusted to her. -Alexander De La Mora

Mackenzie is a smart, compassionate, and considerate young woman with a tender heart for all animals. She is attentive, responsible and willing to work hard to take care of anyone’s fur babies.
