I’m currently a student at University of Victoria, but when I’m home in Seattle I have lots of free time to dog-sit. I will be away on vacation in June but I am free most of May and July, and I have a long winter break in December in which I have lots of availability.

I follow directions well and double check everything. I make sure to feed my pets on a tight schedule and I am very present when I’m with them. I give them loads of attention and love taking them on walks after dinner. I make sure to keep the house clean and organized and respect the requests of clients. I like to play with my pets and tire them out before bed. Safety is really important to me. I always make sure doors are locked and pets are safe before going to bed. I never walk dogs without a leash.

It is important for me to know if a pet has any special needs or medications that must be administered and if there is a specific timeframe for that. My dogs have special needs, one of them is mostly blind, so I know how important it is for the medication to be administered correctly and on time. It is very important to me when I dog-sit that the dogs are properly cared for in every way.
A typical day
I love taking dogs to parks and beaches and letting them run around and get their energy out. When my dog was younger I would run with her on a leash with me and it was great exercise for both of us. If dogs like to play I usually toss a ball for them or play tug of war. I am used to dog-sitting high energy dogs and I know how important it is to let them run around and get their energy out.

Pet care experience
I have taken care of pets since I was 13. When my parents would leave for the weekend, I was in charge of pet sitting my two dogs and cat. I know how important animals are to their owners and I take pride in being a careful, present, and alert dog sitter. I have always loved animals from a young age and I enjoy meeting new pets and taking care of them. I love all kinds of dogs and cats, no matter the size or breed.

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.
McKenna took care of my pup, home, and plants for about a week. Left everything clean and happy!
McKenna treated my dog like she was her own pet. She took her on a nice long walk every day. She also was very respectful of my house. I could barely tell anyone stayed there while I was away.
McKenna was a fantastic dog sitter. She was so responsible and very attuned to my pugs’ medical needs. My dogs were really well looked after for two weeks while I was on vacation. After previously not wanting to leave for extended periods of time because of my dogs, I am now confident to go on holiday as I know they’re in good hands. I would really highly recommend McKenna as a dog sitter for anyone.
