I work from home, love to take dog walk breaks, flexible to your dog's needs with a fenced in backyard for late night emergencies or dogs that prefer their own space. I keep a dog bed in my office so dogs can have company and their own space, too. I have a car and live not far from several animal hospitals in case of an emergency (Friendship, City Paws, Small Door, etc.).

I adapt to any given dog's needs. Some dogs sleep on my bed, others prefer their own doggie bed or their crate. I have plenty of room for all of the above. I keep a dog bed in my office so dogs can have company and their own space, too.

Information Mazen Y. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know your dog's preferences for sleeping and where they like to be if / when alone in the house. I know some prefer to roam free while others like the security of a crate. If your dog has any special dietary concerns or medication needs I'm happy to receive your directions.
A typical day
I like to walk dogs first thing in the morning to give them, and myself, a chance to stretch the legs. There's a park right on my corner (13th and Kansas) with a dog fountain and trees for shade. The dog bed in my office makes for great canine lounging and supervision during the work day. I'm very flexible and routinely head out for mid-day, mid-afternoon and after work dog walks. I occasionally step out for a meeting or coffee but I'm rarely gone more than 2 - 4 hours.

Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Mazen—a lifelong dog lover and experienced K-9 caregiver with a soft spot for all kinds of pups. I had my dog Steve for 12 amazing years, and since then I’ve fostered about six dogs and volunteered with the Washington DC Humane Society (aka HRA), Lucky Dogs and a Charlottesville shelter, helping with adoption events and walking dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments. I live in Petworth in my own home with a fully fenced backyard—perfect for safe outdoor play and potty breaks. My home is quiet, pet-free, and full of cozy spots for lounging. I’m close to several dog parks and Rock Creek Park, ideal for social dogs or those who love a good wooded trail. I regularly watch friends’ dogs overnight and take pride in creating a calm, safe, and loving environment. Whether your pup needs long walks, chill cuddle time, or extra patience and care, I’ve got it covered. Why Book With Me: Reliable overnight care in a pet-free home Fenced-in backyard for safe outdoor time Remote work schedule = plenty of attention all day Experience with multiple dogs and different temperaments Comfortable administering medications (pills, drops, etc.) Attentive to special diets, allergies, and feeding routines Flexible and communicative—daily updates and photos included! Your dog’s routine, comfort, and happiness are my priorities. I tailor every stay to their unique needs and personality, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions—from medication schedules to dietary restrictions. Let’s connect for a meet and greet—I’d love to welcome your pup into my home!
Reviews

Mazen was a great sitter! Agreed to watch Sierra fairly last minute and was very attentive and communicative.

Another great stay with Mazen!

Mazen has been great with our dog Jojo! He's communicative, sends updates and pictures and we trust she is in great hands while she's with him. Thank you Mazen!

Mazen was great and his home is set up perfectly for a dog’s comfort. He took Sonny on long walks and took great care of him. We will definitely book with Mazen again.
