I currently have a job that has a hybrid schedule (2 days in office, 3 days at home), however it is also quite flexible (i.e. dogs who are sick and need to be watched 24/7, etc). I am pretty flexible on starting and ending times, just need clear details of when you would like me to come over/leave by and dates. We can discuss and figure out what works best for the both of us.

I want to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible while their human family is away. I try to stick to their normal schedules, but am able to transport them with your permission (and the dogs ability) for them to go with me on errands or on hikes. I listen and respect the comfortability and wishes of all dog parents. I have taken my neighbors dogs to the beach, on drive thru runs, and even a big family gatherings with the permission of their dog parents. As an avid house sitter (both with dogs or just watching over the house), my mantra is leave the house the way I found it when I arrived. Especially for overnight housesitting, I do light cleaning in areas I have been and will always wash the sheets and make the bed unless you tell me otherwise or don’t have an in-unit washer/dryer. I do this because I know how I am when I come home from a trip. I am an excellent communicator and am basically with my phone 24/7.

Pet care experience

I have always had a dog alongside me ever since I begged for my first dog in second grade. My family’s two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels saw me off to college and the first two years were unbearable without them living in the dorms. I vowed that I would get my own dog in college. Junior year came and that meant finally living in an apartment that allowed dogs. I persistently scoured many animal shelters and finally found the lil guy that I’d been searching for, a little three year old male Pomeranian, who I named Kingston. Kingston and I have been inseparable ever since and he’s now 10 years old. I put seven years of experience because that’s how many years I’ve been the sole mother of Kingston and over the past five years, I’ve been the go-to gal for dogsitting for my neighbors and friends. But if you do include the years with my family dogs, I have 20 years experience of caring for dogs. :)

Mayna is the best! She watched my dogs for a few days over a long weekend. She was quick to respond, sent great updates on how my dogs were doing, and left my house spotless. Highly recommend!!

I have to be honest, using Rover makes me nervous because I’m hiring a stranger to not only care for my beloved pets, but to live in my house while I’m gone. Under the best of circumstances that’s awkward, but luckily I found Mayna and all my worries were tossed out the window. Mayna is fantastic, and I knew it literally the second I met her. We met in a public location first to kind of feel each other out, and then when it was clear that we both wanted to continue the meet-and-greet process, she came by the house to get acquainted with my dogs, and their routine. We were together for a total of about three hours, and the whole time I knew she was going to be perfect for this job. We only went away for a weekend, but Mayna took excellent care of our dogs, which is the number one priority for me. Secondarily is the house, which I don’t expect anything to be done to or for, but Mayna went above and beyond. She washed and dried every towel and linen she used, even though I told her she didn’t need to do that, and the house was extremely clean when we got home. It was like she had never been there. She also kept in touch many times while we were gone to show us pictures of the dogs, or tell us about them, so I was never left wondering how they were doing. And it was clear that they were having no anxiety with her being there, which is great because my youngest dog has major separation anxiety. Overall, this was an extraordinarily positive experience and if you are on the fence about hiring a stranger from an app to care for your fur family, get off the fence and hire Mayna. You will absolutely not regret it. She is very well spoken, educated, kind, friendly, happy, and most importantly she takes pride in what she does as a petsitter. As a plus, at least for me, her work schedule is very flexible and allowed for a very good amount of time to be spent with my dogs. I would hire Mayna as a petsitter again in a heartbeat; in fact, she’ll be staying with the dogs again this weekend!

Mayna is an absolute gem and was the best sitter for my Bella. She was very responsive with any questions or concerns, and gave regular updates during the stay. She went above and beyond with my girl and I couldn’t ask for a better sitter. Thank you Mayna for all your hard work and great communication!
