Pet care fits into my daily or weekly routine depending on what is required from the client regarding their animal. Feedings and pet engagement are my main priority so that if I cannot stay with the animal, the animal is getting social interaction when I drop by for feedings!

I do not care for clients pets in my own home however caring for clients pets in their home is strictly followed from what is given guideline wise whether there’s a set of rules a routine an hour by our breakdown - it’s followed! And as always, there’s lots of pets and lots of cuddles involved.

Walk around the neighborhood, specific pre-planned routes if your dog is more prone to react to certain aspects of the environment, familiar routes that the dog is used to taking, and dog parks if any are nearby. If the client has a cat I do my best to keep the cat comfortable because cats seem to be a little bit more temperamental. They might not like someone being in their space. They might actually be cuddly so depending on that playtime is involved and or letting the cat just have its environment so that they are comfortable.

I Love Dogs, Let Me Love Yours!

Experiencia en el cuidado de mascotas

As a previous dog owner myself, I know that dogs love attention and playing, even sometimes just want to be held. Given that I had to give my dog away due to my profession, please allow me to take care of your dog, care for it, and love it on the days you have things going on. I'm available at night on weekdays and all day on the weekends if booked I’m advance. Also if any special requests like washing or brushing are needed, I can do those too! Anything like special food, specific acitivty time, or anything of the like apply to your pet, I'm willing to abide to give your pet the best experience yet and to give piece to your mind while you go out and have fun! I do currently work full time as a civilian on base. My schedule is normally 6am-3pm, depending on what’s needed for the pet I can try my best to adapt my schedule as need be! Currently I won’t be able to house any pets in my home, my complex doesn’t allow pet sitting for my apartment unit (dogs and cats) I’m 100% okay with being able to come by and see your pet, if you’re pet is in a enclose or cage I don’t mind looking after those as well as long as everything is provided to care for the animal (I’m thinking gerbils, hamsters, bunnies, lizards, etc.).

Maya took great care of my baby for the weekend and updated me frequently. She stayed overnight & made sure he had lots of outside time and cuddle time while I was gone! We love her!

TLDR; I would not recommend Maya for house-sitting with large dogs who require moderate attention and semi-frequent potty breaks. I would like to start by saying, I do not like writing negative reviews and am generally forgiving. I am a Rover sitter myself, and understand that unexpected things can happen. With that, here is my experience: Maya agreed to house-sit and watch our dogs on two occasions within the same week. Wednesday to Thursday, and then again from Saturday to Monday. We have two mixed breed dogs - roughly 50 lbs and 65 lbs – both very friendly with people and very excited whenever they meet someone new. Maya came over for a meet and greet, was VERY nice and friendly, and seemed to get along well with the dogs. She explained to me that she had recently had an accident with a large dog biting her face, and that my dogs were the first that she had agreed to watch since the accident. We had agreed that she did not need to stay overnight with the dogs on Wednesday but would stay overnight with them over the weekend. On Wednesday, we left in the morning at around 11 am. Our dogs typically eat at around 7 am and 7 pm. Maya came over at 2 pm, fed the dogs, and let them outside. I was a little confused as to why they were eating so early, as I had left instructions stating that they eat in the morning and evening. I’m flexible with their schedule, but 5 hours early is a bit much. She said she wasn’t sure if she would be able to make it over again that night, because she had a class that ended around 8:30 pm. She did not return that evening, leaving the dogs alone for 18 hours. The next morning when she returned, she told me that they had an accident and that she cleaned it up. After we got home, one of our dogs was very sick all night. I can only assume this is from anxiety from having been left alone for so long the day before. On Saturday, she dropped in a time or two but didn’t stay for longer than 30-45 minutes each time. My dogs are not high maintenance but are used to having me home all day, so when she dropped in they were obviously very excited to see her. This distracted them from using the bathroom outside, as she did not stay for long enough for them to get their energy out and settle down. She told me that they had peed on a bed while she was gone and that she had put the bedding in the laundry. At that point, it was obvious that the dogs were not getting the attention that they needed. I again asked if she would be able to stay overnight with them, and she told me that she would not be able to because that is the situation in which her dog bite happened. At this point, it was 8 pm. I made an emergency call to a friend who luckily was able to come over right away and watch the dogs for the rest of the stay (Saturday night to Monday morning). When I informed Maya that a friend was coming, I also asked for a refund for JUST Sunday to Monday. That’s pretty generous in my opinion, considering she had only stopped by once or twice on Saturday. It is at this point that Maya stopped answering my messages. Overall, I will say that Maya was very honest and communicative UNTIL the very end of the stay when I asked for a refund. I understand that she had recently had an accident with a big dog, but if she was not comfortable enough with my dogs to adequately care for them, I wish she would have told me that so I could have found someone who was. I think she would be a fine sitter for occasional quick drop-in visits for smaller dogs that are less excitable, but she is definitely not suitable for house sitting especially with bigger dogs. Her redeeming qualities were honesty (as far as I know) with what was going on, and her initial communication and responsiveness.

Maya took care of my beagle, Chewy for a few days while I was away. She sent me daily updates and pictures so I was assured my pup was well cared for and fed. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a local dog sitter or caretaker.
