Hi! I’m Maya! I’m a recent medical school graduate taking time off before residency, with two cats and too many plants. I’ve loved all animals for as long as I can remember and have 15+ years of experience (personal and professional) with cats, dogs, horses, hamsters, snakes…. I have been working with horses since childhood, including grooming for an international show jumper and on the A hunter circuit; compared to horses, even the biggest dogs seem reasonably sized! I feel very comfortable/capable taking care of and walking large dogs. During college, grad school, and medical school I frequently pet sat/walked numerous cats and dogs, including being a regular walker for a 70+ lb German Shepard and a high energy terrier puppy and taking care of older cats with medical needs. Although I am not specifically trained in first aid for pets, my human medical experience and background with horses makes it so that I am comfortable managing the vast majority of pets’ medical needs or situations that may arise. I live in Westville but am happy to travel to you! My schedule is very flexible and can easily be arranged for dog walking and pet sitting, including at short notice.

Unfortunately I am not able to bring your pets into my home, as my own cats would object. I am able to come to your home to take care of your animals, or take them for walks or to a park of your choosing!

Maya took great care of our senior dog and lively teenage pup for a weekend! They can be a handful together and she did great with them. We also gave her detailed information on how to care for them, and she followed them really well and kept our babies both safe and loved. We are very thankful for her help.

My experience was Maya was absolutely wonderful. This was my first time booking with her - she agreed to check on my cats very last minute, when my first cat sitter canceled just two days before my trip. On top of that, my two kitties that have recently been getting in small tiffs with one another, and so I was anxious about spending so much time away from them. Maya was incredibly understanding of this anxiety, and she took the time to have a lengthy video chat with me to discuss each of their routines and any behavioral signs to look out for. She checked in on my cats twice a day while I was gone, and she spent ample time with them on each visit. Having Maya watch my cats took a huge weight off of my shoulders while I was away. I would highly recommend her to all!
Maya was great with my cat, Zuko, and even gave him oral medication each day. She was communicative throughout, and my cat was clearly thriving when I got back home!
Maya was very communicative and left Ziggy in good spirits while we were gone over the holidays.
