Fun Loving Puppy Sitter!
*Only accepting requests for house sitting and drop in-visits at this time!* Hi I'm Maya! I love animals of all shapes and kinds and have lots of experience working with them! I recently graduated from UCSD and am now working a remote job. The reason I joined Rover is because I absolutely love being around animals but can’t own them all! It would be a great experience to play with and care for a pet, even if it is not my own. With over 12 years of experience volunteering at an animal shelter, interning at a wildlife rehabilitation facility, having two dogs and two cats of my own, and fostering shelter cats, I am confident in my ability to handle any type of pet. From the leash-biters to excited-jumpers to shy or stubborn, I have seen and dealt with them all! Volunteering at the shelter gave me experience working with a variety of dogs and cats; all different personalities, behavioral issues, walking issues etc. I am very enthusiastic which can be matched perfectly with a playful (or very mellow) pet. I am also very observant, patient, and conscientious whenever caring for an animal, to make sure that all their needs are being met. There are plenty of nearby grassy areas and the beach to walk and play, which I would be happy to take your pet (if allowed). Feel confident and relaxed leaving your pet with me, as I will care for them as if they were my own!

I give all pups my full, undivided attention! I keep them engaged with play time, toys, scratches, and walks. I usually do at least one walk in the morning, one in the evening, and one before bed, but can adjust as needed. I am extremely respectful of others’ spaces and will leave it in better condition than I found it!

I recently picked up a new golden retriever puppy from a breeder in Michigan. Before I could bring him home to Florida, I had to attend a three-day conference in San Diego. I had packed all the supplies I thought I’d need in my suitcase—but I wasn’t prepared for a puppy who might cry while I was in meetings. That’s where Maya came in. My wife told me about Rover.com, and when I reached out, Maya answered right away and came straight over to meet “Awesome.” From that moment on, I knew we were in good hands. Over the next few days, Maya made sure my puppy was happy, fed, taken out, played with, and—importantly—quiet while I was tied up in sessions. She also sent me regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind and let me enjoy my conference without worry. If I lived in San Diego, I would absolutely hire Maya again to care for my dog. She’s responsible, caring, and simply great at what she does. Hire her—you’ll be glad you did!

I felt at ease leaving my girls with Maya for the week. They were well taken care of and love to spend time with her (even my more reluctant pup)! She sent constant updates and always takes the best pictures! Looked forward to the pictures every day!
Maya took great care of my girls for the drop in and took extra measures to get my more reluctant dog to warm up to her. I feel completely confident leaving them in her care.

Schedule
I work a remote job and my schedule is fairly flexible. Ideally, I would not be traveling during the 9-5 hours, but I am happy to pack up my laptop and work with your fur baby!
