I’m a veterinary assistant with experience caring for cats and dogs and I have 8 years of experience working in an animal shelter. I’m comfortable with pets of all ages, personalities, and medical needs. I can administer oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications and am experienced in recognizing changes in behavior or health. I’m well versed in animal behavior and enjoy earning the trust of shy or anxious pets. I’m also comfortable caring for spicy cats. For everyone’s safety, I don’t accept dogs with a history of biting, but I’m happy to work with fearful or anxious dogs who just need a patient, understanding approach. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout each visit.

I’m experienced with following feeding schedules, giving medications, and sticking to each pet’s normal routine. With my experience as a veterinary assistant I’m confident caring for pets of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. My goal is to ensure your pets feel secure and loved while you’re away.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog walker! Maya took care of our two dogs twice a day for more than a week while we were out of town. To our relief, she accepted the job on very short notice and was absolutely spectacular. Our dogs loved her instantly and looked forward to her visits. Every picture she sent showed two happy, smiling pups. They were relaxed and content when we got home, and thanks to Maya, the girls didn’t have a single accident in the house! Maya is kind, gentle, dependable, and truly takes the time to understand each dog’s individual personality, likes, and dislikes. We are so grateful to her and will definitely use her again. We highly recommend Maya to any pet parent!
