Loving Dog-dad duo in Dublin
We’re a couple who share our home with Saiko, our chow chow, since December 2021. Raising a chow taught us patience, consistency and respect for a dog’s boundaries — they don’t hand you their trust, you earn it. Jérôme grew up with dogs from the day he was born, so between us there’s very little we haven’t handled: puppy energy, stubborn adolescents, senior dogs slowing down, thick double coats that need real brushing. Our flat is dog-proofed and dog-friendly, and we walk daily whatever the Irish weather does. Expect long walks, proper playtime, feeding and medication exactly as you instruct, and regular photo updates so you can actually relax while you’re away. Nervous, reactive or independent dogs are welcome — we’re used to reading body language rather than forcing contact.

Ratings and reviews
I left Cookie with Maxime and Jérôme for two weeks and honestly I stopped worrying after day one. They sent photos and a short update every single day, stuck to her feeding routine exactly as I’d written it, and she came home calm, well-exercised and clearly very attached to them. Their own dog Saiko welcomed her without any drama. I’d book them again in a heartbeat.
Maxime and I make a great team when it comes to caring for animals. We are both kind, responsible, patient and genuinely love spending time with pets. We always make sure they feel safe, loved and comfortable, and we treat every animal as if they were part of our own family. 🐾❤️

Schedule
We both work full-time in Dublin, but our schedules are staggered — Maxime works often from home; Jérôme is working from home 3 week per month, so your dog is rarely alone. Saiko already sets the rhythm of the house: a long walk first thing, a break at midday, then a proper evening outing and playtime before we settle in. Your dog simply slots into that routine. Whatever the booking, you get photos and a short update every day.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Our home is a flat in Dublin 1, dog-proofed after living with a chow chow: secure doors, nothing harmful within reach, and a quiet corner where a new dog can decompress with their own bed, bowls and blanket from home. We don’t have a garden, so exercise happens outside — we’re surrounded by parcs and walk at least three times a day, always on lead until we know your dog wel. Introductions are done slowly and on neutral ground. If your dog would rather keep their distance from Saiko, we keep them apart with a stair gate instead of forcing a friendship. Feeling, medication and routine are followed exactly as you write them, we never let a dog off lead without your say-so, and we have a local vet on file in case anything comes up.

A typical day
Every day is built around walks and play. We’re out at least three times a day in the parks around us: a long sniffing route in the morning, a shorter loop at midday, and a proper leg-stretch in the evening. At home we mix scent games, puzzle feeders, chews and short training sessions with treats, so the brain gets tired as well as the legs. Between all that, there’s a quiet sofa and plenty of naps. If your dog enjoys company, Saiko, our chow-chow, makes a calm playmate — and if they’d rather keep to themselves, that’s absolutely fine too.

- Tell us everything before the stay: feeding routine and portions, medication, vet contact, allergies, fears or triggers, recall, and how your dog reacts to other dogs, children, cyclists or being left alone. The more we know, the smoother the first day. We live in an apartment without a garden and share our home with Saiko, a calm chow-chow, so we’re the best fit for dogs who are comfortable around another dog and relaxed indoors. We always suggest a free meet-and-greet first so everyone can check the match, and we send photos and updates every day.
