In terms of days/times, I have a somewhat flexible schedule due to self-entrepreneurship goals. There are only my randomly scattered appointments & already accepted commitments (that I of course am sure to cross-reference calendars with before accepting any invites!).

Safety, trust & environment
I prioritize crystal-clear communication during stays so you never have to wonder how your animal is doing. I follow your care instructions exactly and make sure to ask questions if anything is unclear. I send thorough updates after each visit, and if anything unusual comes up—even something small—I'll let you know as soon as physically possible. **For cat parents:** I understand the worry about indoor cats escaping outside or falling from windows. My own cat, Tux, is the most curious cat I've ever met, so I'm very familiar with being vigilant about "feline dangers" in the home—I'm always careful with doors, windows, and any potential escape routes.
Information Max S. would like to know about your pet
Please share leash reactivity triggers, guarding behaviors, escape habits, and any health or mobility concerns. Let me know what motivates your animal (treats, toys, praise), their comfort level with strangers and other dogs, and any medication details. If there are home rules (no couch, crate routine, etc.), please let me know those as well! I look forward to meeting your furry loved ones 🥹 ❤️
A typical day
For overnight home stays: I would love to hear about all of those little things that make your loved one feel joyous, safe, & secure - esp. since I will have much more time with them!! For walks: I typically let the dog lead (within time constraints!) and aim for plenty of sniff breaks—I absolutely love seeing our fur babies overwhelmed with joy in sensory enrichment 😊🧠 For drop-ins: Ever worry someone is just doing a "drive-by" visit? Rest assured, I'm not a "minimum viable service" type of person. I spend quality time with your fur babies for the entire booked time, ensuring they're not only physically cared for but also get human affection and attention.

Pet care experience
🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 Calling all LGBTQIA2S+ and/or neurodiverse clients & allies! If you are looking for someone who treats your fur babies like family *and* keeps you in the loop with updates and cute photos, you’re in the right place. 💛📸 🏳️⚧️ I’m a semi-recently out (2024) trans man (FTM)- part time animal care provider & photographer 📸, part time food entrepreneur & chef 👨🏻🍳- who loves working with LGBTQIA2S+ and/or neurodivergent clients and allies. 🐾 I’m especially good with animals who are shy, anxious, or slow to trust (the “quiet nervous” ones who might hide, freeze, or tremble). As a trauma survivor who formed deep bonds with animals in my youth, I've become attuned to non-verbal distress signals - I adapt to each animal's communication style and go at their pace so they feel as safe and as in control as they can when meeting a new human. 💼 Experience includes overnight stays, local walks and/or nature hikes, drop-in care, basic training reinforcement, and medication support (oral and injected) 💊. Personally familiar with senior and special needs animal care. Unique animals welcome! Bonus ✨: You’ll also get a little “treat” yourself after each visit: emotionally expressive / photogenic photos of your lil (or gentle giant!) cuties 🥹 I love finding ways to bring out your furry loved one's unique personality on camera!! 🐕🦺⚠️ DOGS ONLY: Sadly, I'm not the right fit currently for dogs with a history of aggression. If you’re not sure where your dog falls, feel free to reach out to share what you’ve experienced with them and I can let you know if I feel comfortable being able to commit to safely caring for your fur baby. 📝 *Quick note about reviews from 2019:* My initial work with Rover began before my gender transition when I went by the old legal name: **Hannah**. So, if you see the historical reviews from that time period - rest assured: same sitter, same care! Warmly, Max (he/him or they/them)
Reviews

Max is hands down the best sitter we have booked on this app. They were incredibly responsive and communicative during drop-in visits which gave us peace of mind while we were out of town. They followed care instructions closely and made sure our cats were happy and comfortable every visit. Most importantly, they showed genuine care and affection for our cats which truly set them apart. We will absolutely rebook with Max in the future if their availability lines up, and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.

Max was amazing with our sometimes difficult pup Lexi. Lexi can be a bit growly at first and takes a second to warm up. Max had no trouble with this and was soon sending me videos of them playing. I appreciated the robust communication (I was asked which communication style I preferred). Every instruction was followed and our house with treated with respect. We'll be using Max for all our sitting needs from now on.

Max treated our cats like family. Will definitely book with him again!
Hannah was awesome. She was dependable and sent great pics. The animals really warmed up to her and clearly enjoyed her company. Would highly recommend Hannah!
