Dog Sitters, Working From Home

Hi, we’re Max and Rosie. We both grew up with dogs and have always loved having them around. We’re not quite ready to get a dog of our own just yet, so dog sitting has been a great way for us to have dogs in our lives while giving them a comfortable home from home. We both work from home full time, which means there’s always someone around throughout the day. We take dogs out for walks during our lunch break and again in the evening, and we’re very happy to adapt the routine to suit each dog. That might mean a long walk, a slower wander, or plenty of time relaxing at home. We know every dog is different, so we take the time to get to know their personality, routine and what makes them comfortable. Our aim is for them to settle in quickly, enjoy themselves and feel completely at home while they’re with us.

The loveliest of sitters! Really easy to communicate with and it’s very clear that they love dogs. Could not recommend highly enough!

Max and Rosie took great care of Echo and sent daily updates and photos. Echo looked happy and relaxed with them. They’re reliable, easy to communicate with and I would be very happy to use their services again.

Max and Rosie were absolutely brilliant with our dog Loki and took such great care of him for the whole week while we were away. It’s always a little stressful leaving your pup with someone new, but from the very first meet-and-greet we had a good feeling about them and felt comfortable leaving Loki in their care. Loki is a high-energy dog and can be reactive at times, so we were especially happy to find someone who understood and followed our instructions and knew how to handle him. They kept us updated throughout the week with messages and photos, which was really reassuring and made it much easier enjoy our trip. When we came home, Loki was happy and clearly had a great time with them.

Max and Rosie have been fantastic, communicated about how my dog was during the day, and even sent me a few photos at lunchtime. I also had to bring my pickup time forward by two hours and they were very accommodating about it. Would recommend!

My poodle mix Olive loves going to Rosie and Max's! She is so excited to go there as she gets so much love and cuddles, company all day, plus a nice big walk too. I would highly recommend Rosie and Max - they always keep me updated with how Olive's getting on so I always know she's in the best of hands!

Schedule

We both work from home full time, so having a dog fits naturally into our daily routine. There’s always someone around throughout the day, and dogs are never left alone for long periods. We normally start the day with a morning walk, with another longer walk during our lunch break and an evening walk. There’s also plenty of opportunity for toilet breaks, play and attention throughout the day. We’re happy to adapt the routine depending on the dog. Some are happiest with lots of exercise and stimulation, while others are perfectly content with a couple of walks and plenty of time relaxing at home. At weekends, we have more flexibility for longer walks and trips out, depending on what each dog enjoys.

Safety, trust & environment

We both work from home full time, so dogs are supervised and have company throughout the day. We keep our home secure and make sure balcony doors and windows are closed when dogs are in our care. We follow each dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks and any specific instructions from their owner. We also take their personality into account, whether they’re happiest out walking, playing or simply relaxing at home. Dogs are kept on lead unless we have explicit permission from their owner to let them off. We’ll always choose safe, suitable places to walk and prioritise their wellbeing. We’re also happy to send regular updates and photos, so owners know how their dog is getting on while they’re away.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a morning walk, followed by breakfast and some time to settle while we work. During the day there are regular breaks for toilet trips, play and attention, with a longer walk around lunchtime. We’ll adapt the day to suit the dog. Some enjoy a longer walk and plenty of exploring, while others are happier with a shorter walk, a bit of play and plenty of time relaxing at home. In the evening we’ll head out for another walk before settling in for the night. At weekends, we have more time for longer walks and trips to the park or other dog-friendly places.

We’re happy to look after dogs with different personalities, routines and energy levels. The main thing we ask is that you let us know about anything that might affect their stay, such as separation anxiety, reactivity, medication, dietary requirements or anything they’re nervous around. We’re also happy to follow their usual routines and preferences as closely as possible. The more we know in advance, the easier it is for us to make sure they settle in comfortably.
