I have just finnished studying and I’m hoping I can spend some time walking peoples dogs as I’ve moved out of home and cannot see my own regularly due to the bus schedule. I have a lot of free time now until September when I start my degree so I would absolutely love to board and walk your pets. I am free all the time currently and I need something to do which I enjoy as dogs are one of my favourite things in the world.

I am calm, patient, and understanding of a dogs behaviour and will always treat them with respect for the entire time I am with them. I only ever use positive reinforcement such as verbal rewarding or treats rather than shouting. I live in the center of Scarborough and have a small garden which they can use while also being able to easily get to the beach, forests, parks and fields to let them burn off some energy. My parents and family dogs live in Staintondale where there is a large fenced garden and plenty of fields to burn off energy and play games.

I have experience with dogs reactive to people, other dogs and animals and cars so would know how to manage them in situations which frighten them. I also have experience with high energy breeds such as vizslas and huskies, older dogs and dogs of all sizes so this would also not be an issue.
Een typische dag
With my own dogs they love going to the woods and fields so I’m always getting the bus to Staintondale where we can walk for hours and they can see farm animals and wildlife. I have sniff mats, kongs, toys, and I train them every day to build our bond and to provide mental stimulation. I play ‘go find it’ where I teach them to stay and find a treat or toy that I’ve hid in the house or outside which they always enjoy. I walk them 3 times a day as they are incredibly high energy and often let them take control of the lead and explore or sniff wherever they like however teach them that this is only with the extendable lead.

I have enjoyed learning canine psychology and body language since around the age 10, this help me understand my dogs and find new ways of training them which is one of my favourite hobbies, although since moving out of my parents I have been really busy and I don’t have any time to get a dog of my own so I would absolutely love to look after dogs in my spare time. I don’t mind walking and training dogs, administering medications, check ins to provide some mental stimulation, make sure everything is okay or to let them into the garden.

Max helped us out last minute when we needed to go away. He was really responsive and even though he was working late, agreed to an early drop off for us. He sent loads of pics and videos throughout our dogs stay and checked before going out to get treats for the dogs. Both Lenny and Lana seemed very settled and comfortable with max and we’d definitely use max again should we need to.
Max was excellent, we had to arrange at very short notice a dog-sitter and he was able to do this at short notice. Bodhi was comfortable and felt at home with Max which was important to us as he has anxiety issues. Thank you Max and I would recommend him to anyone using Rover.
