Loving care as if they were my own
I have years of personal and volunteer experience caring for both dogs and cats. I raised and cared for two small Schnauzers, and I’ve also looked after about three medium-sized and two large dogs, taking them on walks and making sure they got plenty of exercise and attention. I volunteered at a dog shelter where I helped feed, walk, and care for the dogs regularly. I also cared for the cats at the shelter, ensuring they were clean, fed, and happy. At home, I’ve taken care of my grandmother’s cats—brushing them, feeding them, and spending quality playtime with them. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and always treat them with love, patience, and responsibility.

Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I create a calm, clean, and pet-friendly environment where animals can feel safe and relaxed. I always follow any specific instructions from the owner, including feeding schedules, medications, and routines. I take the time to build trust with each pet, going at their pace and making sure they feel comfortable around me. Whether it’s keeping dangerous items out of reach, supervising outdoor time, or simply providing a quiet, cozy space to rest, I’m committed to creating a safe and loving atmosphere. Communication with pet owners is also key — I always keep them updated and informed.

The best decision we could have made! I had never left my baby with anyone before, and I did it with Mauricio. He's incredibly good, and communication is excellent. I recommend him 200%. THANK YOU!! I'm sure we'll be back.
Mauricio watched my four dogs for several days over Christmas. Positives: the dogs were fed, let out regularly, and were safe when I came home. He was responsive over text and was willing to come by multiple times a day. That said, there were a few issues that didn’t match what we had agreed on for a house sit that cost just under $900 for about 3.5 days. We had agreed that at least one visit per day would be a proper walk, but that didn’t happen consistently, especially in the last couple of days. When I returned, the floors had a noticeable layer of dirt and paw marks and took about an hour to fully vacuum and mop. I also came home to chewed-up vacuum parts in multiple areas of the house that weren’t mentioned to me and that were in areas that should have been noticable. For house sitting, I expected to come home to a house at least as clean as I left it. The dogs were not neglected, but in my opinion the overall level of follow-through and attention to the home did not match the expectations we set or the price paid. I’ve shared this feedback directly with Mauricio and with Rover so they’re aware. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t hire him, he’s still relatively new at this, and this sit was a learning experience. I would consider hiring him again with very clear expectations and check-ins agreed on up front.
Mauricio did a fantastic job with Pippa. Was on time and very friendly. He was very good with Pippa. Was wonderful for a last minute issue.
Mauricio was an excellent caregiver for my pet. He's responsible, attentive, and clearly loves animals. I felt at ease knowing my pet was in good hands. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy caregiver.

My schedule is very flexible, as I run my own business and manage my own time. I spend a lot of time at home, which allows me to give pets the attention, care and companionship they need throughout the day. I’m available for walks, feeding, playtime, and any other specific routines your pet may have
