Hire a Professional Pet Nanny!

*** Note: prior to booking, please review my winter advisory policy. *** Background: I have cared for dogs in a professional setting for over a decade and worked with pit bull type dogs since 2006 (with rescues/shelters). Prior to working with Rover, I owned a boutique-style doggie daycare/hotel/spa & bakery/shop for 7 years in CA prior to moving to MN. My dream job! I was nicknamed “Fairy Dog Mother” by former clients & am named in a former client’s will to take custody of their dog should they pass away. I love my doggie clients. I’d love to befriend yours & care for them. I currently operate a pet boutique where I offer holistic remedies (herbs, CBD Oil) and other pet accessories (toys, treats). I’ve taken courses in canine herbalism & essential oil use. I am currently enrolled in pet nutrition and homeopathy classes through Dogs Naturally University. My specialty is pit bull type dogs, but I love all breeds! I’ve volunteered with BAD RAP, several shelters & currently with a Therapy Dog program. Many of my dogs passed the Canine Good Citizen exam, except my American Bulldog Trip, he was a little too goofy & derpy special to pass, LOL. I’m good with elderly, special-needs (health or behavioral) spazzy puppies, shy/anxious or leash-aggressive/reactive dogs. Nothing phases me! I’m a stickler about security & appropriate fitting collars/harnesses & if your dog is a bolter aka “flight risk” as I call them, rest assured I can handle it. Winter Advsory Policy Due to our rural location & significant drive time between clients, I will not be available for pet sitting or dog walking services when there is bad weather. This includes forecasts/actual significant snow fall, below zero windchill and/or winter advisories. While this may be inconvenient, tows covered by AAA/insurance are unreliable causing out of pocket expenses of over $350 should my car get stuck. I do not have anyone that can help me in the event of an accident or stall, thus requiring me to take extra safety precautions. Also, i live in the country, so even though roads in town are plowed, mine usually aren’t until later. Please check the weather before booking & have a backup plan. Thank you for understanding if I need to cancel bookings due to the weather.

Maureen goes above and beyond what she's asked to do for your dog. My dog is my companion and a member of my family. I wouldn't trust her care to anyone else.

Maureen was excellent. I was worried about leaving my dog at home. Peanut, my dog,is a chihuahua. That pretty much says it all. She doesn't warm up to most people. I was really worried about leaving her at home and Maureen coming in and her not being receptive to Maureen. I also worried about Peanut being aggressive towards Maureen. On the way to the airport I thought about going back home. Maureen was patient with Peanut and sent me pics and updates on her behavior. I felt so much better with Maureen taking care of her. It didn't take Peanut long to warm up to Maureen. I would highly recommend Maureen and will hire her again. Thanks Maureen.

Maureen has been taking care of our pets (dogs and cats) for the past couple of years and we are so thankful to have found her! Our fur babies love her and we love that she sends us a bunch of pictures every single visit! We are no longer worried when we are away and look forward to reading her detailed visit cards that include poseable “family photos” and sometimes photos with goofy props! 😂 We couldn’t ask for a better sitter!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

Included in my pet sitting services, with your permission, I can hook up a pet cam to your WiFi which we can both monitor to see how your pet is doing. With your phone, you can view your dog 24/7, talk to your dog, distribute treats and play music with the built-in Alexa! In the event of an emergency or if your dog seems super stressed or sad, I can rush over to care for your pup.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

Walking adventures include neighborhood walks or outings to a lake, hiking trail or DQ for a pup cup! (Permission for car rides will be asked.) i always carry a homeopathic first aid kit in case of bee stings, ticks etc. I am new to the world of cat ownership/care. If you have a cat that will fight tooth & nail to avoid meds, I may not be the best fit. I have pet sit cats that were good about taking pills but I’m still honing my more advanced cat care skills. Please note that my rates are for a 15-minute drive from Eden Valley (includes Watkins, Manannah, Paynesville, Litchfield & some parts of Richmond). Traveling outside of this range, an additional charge per visit of $5-$15 may apply to cover gas/driving time. My family includes an 8 y/o staffy Dan, a 5 y/o staffy bull Diamond & a 2 y/o cat Dexter. My family also includes doggie angels in heaven, Pony the Pit Bull, Trip aka TripleDip, Annabelle who my daycare was named after and 102, a Dalmatian.

A typical day

Whatever your dog’s favorite activity is - fetch, tug or snuggling - we will do plenty of! I will also make sure they get lots of snacks. On pet sitting visits or walks, I like to end every session in a calm manner with some t-touch massage.

After you book a walk or visit with me, I’d like to know what your dog’s favorite activities, toys and treats are to make sure we get plenty of that in! We can discuss any rules or in-progress training so that a consistent environment is maintained (not allowed on the couch etc).
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
