Gentle, Loving Dog Care in a Peaceful Sanctuary

I cared for our beloved Westie, Marley, for 15 wonderful years—he was family, and taught me everything about patience, loyalty, and the quiet language of dogs. Since then, I’ve continued looking after family dogs of all shapes and sizes, from playful pups to gentle seniors. I offer a calm, comforting environment where dogs are treated with the same love and respect I gave Marley. Whether your dog needs extra cuddles, slow walks, or just a peaceful place to rest, I’m here to provide thoughtful, reliable care.

Dog Walking • Dec 10, 2025

Maureen was absolutely brilliant. What a lovely, lovely lady. My dog Ziggy adored her immediately and went with her for walkies like an old friend. Maureen was always on time and so friendly. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone without hesitation and will definitely ask her again when I need help with walkies.

Schedule

My days are centred around care and companionship, so pet sitting fits naturally into my routine. I work from home and run a community hub next to my home, which means I’m always nearby and able to give dogs the attention they deserve—whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or simply being present. I keep a steady schedule with plenty of flexibility, so your pet’s needs can be met with ease and consistency.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are at the heart of how I care for pets. In my home, dogs have a calm, secure space to relax, with access to a fully enclosed garden for fresh air and gentle play. I keep routines consistent and always follow the owner's guidance—whether it’s diet, medication, or preferred walking routes. I never leave pets unattended and make sure they feel safe, seen, and soothed. If I’m in your home, I treat it with the same respect I give my own, keeping things tidy and peaceful so your pet stays settled and happy.

A typical day

A typical day starts with a slow, happy morning—gentle greetings, fresh water, and a relaxed walk to stretch our legs. Throughout the day, I offer plenty of companionship: soft play, cuddles, and quiet time in the garden where dogs can sniff, explore, or simply snooze in the sun. I tailor activities to each dog’s personality—whether they love a game of fetch, a belly rub, or just being nearby while I work. Evenings are cosy and calm, with a final walk and lots of reassurance before bedtime. Every moment is guided by kindness, routine, and the comfort of knowing they’re safe and loved.

Before caring for any pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their unique personality and needs. That includes: 🐾 Health & Medication: Any ongoing conditions, allergies, or medications—plus emergency contacts for their vet. 🐶 Temperament: Are they shy, playful, anxious, or reactive? What helps them feel safe? 🦴 Routine & Preferences: Usual feeding times, favourite toys, walking habits, and any comforting rituals. 🚪 Triggers & Boundaries: Things that cause stress (like loud noises or other dogs), and any areas they prefer to avoid. 🛏️ Sleep & Rest: Where they like to sleep, and how they settle best—especially important for older dogs or those with additional needs. 🗣️ Commands & Communication: Words or cues they respond to, and how they express discomfort or joy.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass an identity verification. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
