Hi! My name is Maura. I’ve owned and cared for dogs for most of my life. I also have experience caring for cats, birds, chickens and horses. I’m an experienced house and pet sitter— I’ve cared for both grown animals and little ones alike. I’m comfortable providing company, keeping the animals on a schedule, and even continuing training schedules while you’re gone. I can provide references if needed!

Safety, trust & environment
When it comes to taking care of the pets in your home, I usually try and follow the established routines that they’re already used to. Throughout the day, I’ll take breaks from whatever chores or work I’m doing on my computer to spend time with the pets, playing or walking outside. Sometimes we just sunbathe ☀️ while I read a book in the late afternoon. It depends on the pet, but generally it’s just a lot of spending time together!

Maura has house sat for us multiple times in the past year and a half as well as babysat previous to that when our kids were younger. Of all of the people we have had house sit for us she has been the best. She takes good care of our animals, house, and plants and seems to really care for everyone. She is responsible and trustworthy. Instead of just doing the bare minimum that we request (walking the younger dog once a day) she spends time walking both of our dogs separately, throwing a frisbee for them and training our younger dog (who was a 15 week old puppy the first time she house sat for us). Our dogs are always well cared for and happy when we return and the house is always nice and clean. When available, Maura is always our go-to house sitter.
Maura is absolutely wonderful! She watches our dog whenever we go away on vacation, and our dog absolutely loves her. She is so kind, gentle, responsible, and caring, and you can tell how much she genuinely loves animals by the way she interacts with them. Maura also watches our children, and I feel completely comfortable trusting her with both our kids and our dog. She has such a naturally gentle and caring personality, and she is incredibly responsible and dependable. We are so grateful to have someone like Maura that we can trust with the things that matter most to us. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is wonderful with both children and animals!

Schedule
At the moment I’m in-between jobs, having just completed a summer internship abroad. So most of my day is spent job searching. I like to get outside and go for walks or runs on the daily, so oftentimes I’ll take my dog with me. I am also a moderate early-riser. I’m naturally up around 7:30, and I’ll usually feed the pets first thing. However, I do get up earlier if that’s the schedule the pets are on!
