Pet care experience
We love dogs! :)
My partner Chelsea, dog Sunny, and I live in a house with a fenced-in yard in a quiet neighborhood in Culver City. Sunny is 28 lbs., poodle mix, 4 years old, has a very sweet and playful personality, and is great with dogs of all sizes. Chelsea and I have grown up with dogs, and have been dog owners nearly our whole lives so we are very experienced pet owners. We have a great walking neighborhood and are always getting outside so your pup will get ample exercise if they want it!

Ratings and reviews
Matty and Chelsea were fabulous! They were so kind and caring with Monty we felt very assured that he was being well taken care of. They were communicative and responsive and Monty looked slim and trim from all the lovely walks they took him on!!

Our pup had a great time with Matty!!

This was our first time using Rover and we could not have picked a better sitter for Kiwi. Matty was patient, communicative and friendly throughout the nine day stay. And Kiwi loved spending time with Marty’s pup Sunny. I highly recommend him and will definitely be using him in the future.

Our second time booking with them. Very responsive and delivered the best service.

Some context first: we were planning to book Matt for FIVE days starting Sunday, while we were away traveling, so my elderly mother wouldn't have to do the walks herself. That arrangement is the whole backdrop here. We started with an intro walk on Friday. The first walk (Friday) went fine — he was patient while our dog got used to him. It ran shorter than the 30 minutes I paid for, but it was hot out and I won't hold that against him; if our dog didn't want to keep going in that heat, that's understandable. He'd mentioned his in-laws would be in town, so Sunday evening might not work because they had dinner plans— fine. We said we would stay in contact and play it by ear. He'd tell me what times do and do not work so I could give my mom a heads up, but he preferred the mornings while we were away. After that discussion, I added a last-minute Saturday walk on top, specifically to give him more one-on-one time with our dog while we were still home, so everyone would be comfortable before the five days we were away. I booked it for 3 PM on purpose, because I knew we'd be out in the morning and wanted to be home for it. He accepted the 3 PM booking through Rover and never said a word about it not working for him. Instead he showed up at 11 AM, unannounced, while we were out — the exact situation the 3 PM time was meant to avoid. When I reached him via our Ring camera he claimed he'd 'told me yesterday' he couldn't do 3, but again that was about Sunday, not Saturday. Since we weren't home, my elderly mother was the one who had to deal with him. She said he was impatient our dog wasn't ready for his surprise arrival, complained about waiting 5 minutes outside and about the heat, and was short and unpleasant the whole time. Getting frustrated with her — when he's the one who showed up hours early and never said a word about the booked time not working — is egregious. He also stated that he didn't know if he would be back… after already accepting our booking for the five days. Needless to say, once my mother told me about her experience I promptly cancelled the request. All of this could have been avoided with clear communication. I’ve had very positive experiences in my many years on Rover but will never be ok with anyone being rude to my parents.

Huxley loved the attention!

Schedule
We are highly active with our dog Sunny who maintains a consistent schedule throughout the week. We typically take 3 walks a dog (morning, afternoon, evening), as well as visits to the beach and dog park. Your pup will be as active as you like to ensure they are in the best care while you are out of town. Guaranteed!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My partner and I are very neat people with a very clean home. We treat others and their property the way we would like ours to be treated. I believe in leaving things better than the way you found them so you can trust your home and/or pets will be in fantastic care.

A typical day
Because I work from home, I can provide consistent attention throughout the day to your dog and their physical activity. Between long walks, dog parks, beaches, etc., I am happy to provide as much care and attention as you like. If you'd prefer we keep the week or weekend relaxed, we'll skip the extracurriculars! Truly, whatever you prefer.
