Matt started cat sitting for me about five years ago. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond. I noticed that when Matt was cat sitting, as opposed to anyone else, the cat would be much happier and more relaxed when I got home. With other cat sitters, she would become very stressed and refuse to eat. But Matt stopped by multiple times a day to play with her, brush her, and generally make sure she didn't feel abandoned. She has trauma from a past abandonment, so this made a HUGE difference in how well she tolerated me being gone. She has also needed complicated food regimines and medication, and he has handled it all. I got a German Shepherd last year, so Matt has started house and dog sitting for me as well. The dog clearly adores him, which really tells you all you need to know about how well he takes care of her! He is also a very courteous house sitter and is sure to leave everything as clean as he found it.

Matthew is a wonderful pet owner. From our first puppy to his present two cats, Butter and Truffle, Matthew has always been a caring and responsible owner. When Matthew first rescued Truffle and Butter, Truffle was very sick. She required feeding every two hours, night and day, and she had to be manually cleaned just as often. Although we all shared in the duties, Matthew took on the lion's share of the responsibility. This went on for over six months. Today, five years later, Truffle is thriving. She still has medical issues, but, Matthew stays on top of it. He is in constant communication with Truffle's vet and is very proactive in her care and nutritional needs. Matthew's first and last thoughts of the day are of his Butter and Truffle. He searches the house until he finds them and cuddles them.
