Mathew and Elsie are lovely, our two dogs Bertie and Elsie were well looked after and we hrecieved regular updates and photis them having fun and chilling out with them both and their lovely labrador Marley. we will definitely be using them again when we go away as long as they are available. 🥰🥰

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience using Matthew and Elle as dog boarders. My wife looked to find someone who loved big dogs, and had cared for big dogs previously. As their profile ticked both of these points, my wife got in touch and organised a 2 week stay for our 1 year old Labrador puppy Blu, whilst we were away on special family trip to Florida. We went through all the required steps prior to the trip, ensuring they met Blu at their house along with their own Labrador puppy. They were more than happy with everything, advising that they loved boisterous boy dogs so were excited to have him. They also asked if it would be OK if they had other dogs during the stay. We had advised we were happy for them to make that call, but had advised it may be a lot of work having our 1 year old Lab puppy, and their own Labrador puppy. If they were happy with the work, then we were happy with Blu having other dogs around. We dropped Blu off at 16:00 on the day we were flying, they were still really optimistic about the stay and had the paddling pool out etc. for his arrival. It all went quite well up to this point. However, when we arrived in Florida the following day, we had a message off my Mum, who we gave as an emergency contact (to only be contacted if they required a vet, he was lost etc), advising they had contacted her first thing to transfer care to her. This was less than 24 hours into his stay, baring in mind the majority of this time was him sleeping overnight. We had no contact from Matthew or Elle regarding this, and we needed to make contact with them to find out what was happening. The answer was, that having 2 Labrador puppies was too much for them, as they hadn’t expected the two male puppies to be boisterous. This was something they were confident of dealing with during our initial conversations, and any experienced boarder, would know would take a day or two to settle down. No attempt was made by Matthew / Elle to work this out, and picked up the phone at the earliest convenience for them. My mum is 73 years old and we didn’t want her involved in the care, as Blu is a large puppy, and we had purposely looked for a boarder who could handle / walk a large puppy, so by handing care over to my Mum (who was our only UK based option for an emergency contact for the duration of his stay), they risked her being pulled over and causing an injury. We also hadn’t given consent to either Matthew / Elle for this transfer, which makes it doubly disappointing. For the next 3 days we had to work with Rover whilst on our Family holiday in Florida to find an alternative Boarder. This completely ruined the start of our holiday. On a positive note, Rover were excellent, Louise in particular bent over backwards in helping find someone else suitable, fully understanding the stress it put on us being so far away. The next family who took Blu in (who also had other dogs), were perfect and said how great Blu was at their house, and they would be more than happy to have him again. Therefore, we are unable to recommend using Matthew / Elle, if you require an experienced and reliable dog boarder.
