I work full time for the government. But I’m single and have no dependents. I have a lot of flexibility with my job regarding start and end times. I can leave work at short notice for high need dogs.

Safety, trust & environment
I’m a very focused dog sitter. I like to exercise a lot and no weather is too bad that I can’t get in a walk or run with a pet. If your dog is low energy then one of my favourite things is to lie on the floor together and cuddle. It lowers stress for both of us.
Information Matthew L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know all triggers and preferences, daily routines and dislikes. Arrest warrants and enemies would be nice to know ahead of time. Regarding first aid and CPR and injections. I’m going to say ’no’ because I’m not licensed. But as a former veterinary nurse please know I have given countless injections and although I’ve never had to administer CPR to a dog, I’m aware of the technique.
A typical day
What we do day to day depends on the dog. A dog with boundless energy will get a jog with me in the morning and a long « sniff » walk later in the day, bare minimum. A slower dog will get several « sniff » walks to engage their brain. An inactive dog will get all to cuddles and lots of short toilet outings. This is obviously a rough breakdown and each dog’s needs will be catered to. I do enjoy fetch with frisbees or chuckits if the dog is a good fetcher.

Pet care experience
I have worked in a pet store and as a veterinary nurse in South Australia. I’ve been a dog jogger in Sydney (aus) and Vancouver. I’ve worked for Battersea dog and cat home in London (UK) and rescued and fostered dogs myself. I take pet care very seriously. I have a lot of time and patience for animals. I studied environmental science and zoology for my degree and I’ve had to handle many wild animals with care in the past. I have a special fondness for senior dogs of all sizes and special needs.
Reviews

Matthew as always is fantastic. I never have to worry about leaving my dog as I know Matthew will take extremely good care of him and give him long walks which he loves. Matthew also leaves the house cleaner than when I left it.

Absolutely outstanding pet sitter! Trust worthy! Our dog was so well cared for , a senior dog, and has dog reactivity, Mathew connected with him and cared for him as well or better than us! Left our house clean, and communicated very well. Thank you so much Mathew for giving us ease when away!
It was great to have Matthew care for Dexter 24/7, and he left me with peace of mind so I could enjoy my time away. Thank you Matthew.

Matthew was terrific - he is dependable, responsive and a really nice guy. He was great with Roscoe, giving him lots of exercise as well as quality downtime. A great experience all around.
