I’ve cared for dogs and other animals for more than 25 years and have been a Rover sitter since 2017. I work from home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, frequent potty breaks, exercise, and a flexible routine throughout the day. My home is on acreage outside Saint Joseph with plenty of outdoor space, woods for walks, and a river for dogs that enjoy the water. Inside, dogs have a quiet, comfortable home environment where they can relax between activities. I’m experienced with dogs of different sizes, ages, and activity levels, including senior and special-needs dogs. I’m also comfortable administering oral and injected medications and following detailed feeding, medication, and care instructions. My goal is to provide attentive, dependable care in a home setting while keeping your dog’s routine as familiar as possible.

Matt and his family helped us in a pinch. We contacted him very last minute and he was happy to help. Our miniature schnauzer, Dutch, was well taken care of. We received updates and photos throughout his stay, and would definitely use Matt and his family again.

Schedule
I work from home, so pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I’m home and available throughout most of the day for walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. My schedule is flexible, including evenings and weekends, and I already enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors and being active.

In my home, I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I provide regular potty breaks, walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m careful with doors, leashes, and outdoor access, and I follow any feeding, medication, or behavioral instructions you provide.
A typical day
Every dog is different, so I adjust the day around your dog’s normal routine and energy level. Active dogs can enjoy walks, outdoor play, games of fetch, exploring the property, and time in the woods. Dogs that enjoy water may have opportunities to swim when appropriate and with your permission. Between activities, there is plenty of time to relax inside my home. Because I work from home, I’m around throughout most of the day for attention, potty breaks, meals, playtime, and companionship. Whether your dog wants an active day outside or would rather relax nearby while I work, I want their stay to feel comfortable, safe, and familiar.
