I’m a calm, reliable pet sitter who loves working with dogs of every size, from tiny, stubborn dachshunds to towering Irish wolfhounds. I create a safe, reassuring environment where each pet can relax and feel understood. I have experience supporting senior dogs, administering basic medication, and helping young pups build confidence through gentle, consistent routines. I also work comfortably with reactive dogs, using patience, structure and positive reinforcement to help them settle and feel secure. Whether it’s sticking to a detailed routine or providing extra comfort and attention, I tailor my care to each dog’s personality so they feel happy, relaxed and genuinely cared for while their owners are away.

Safety, trust & environment
I have my own car, so I can travel easily for walks, visits and bookings. Depending on your dog’s needs, I also have access to an enclosed garden and a secure dog field nearby for safe, controlled exercise. Dietary and medical information will need to be discussed before any walking or outdoor activity takes place, so I can make sure your dog stays safe, comfortable and fully supported.

I do not leave Tobi with many people at all, so booking a new dog walker was a big step for me. (I have just moved to Scotland!) Matthew made it easy from the start. He took the time to let her come to him rather than rushing her, asked good questions about her routine and her triggers, and clearly listened to the answers. Tobi is a small, nervous French Bulldog who can be selective with unfamiliar dogs, and Matthew never made her feel rushed. He kept me updated, sent photos, and stuck to what we agreed rather than deciding he knew better. She came back happy & content, I will be booking him again for Tobi! If you have a nervous dog and you are hesitating, book him. I would not recommend anyone I did not fully trust with mine. Thank you Matthew.
Over the years I have seen Matthew cared for and trained all different breads of dogs ,including rehoming and rehabilitating a border collie. He also has house sat and looked after my mainecoon. Matthew is trustworthy, reliable, respectful, with great out door knowledge and always off out walking the hills so I can guarantee if he is asked to take a dog on a good walk, it’s getting a good walk not just down the street.

Schedule
I currently work full time on a rota basis, which means I have good availability at weekends and some flexibility during the week. I can offer days out in nature, relaxed walks, or time in a private secure field depending on your dog’s needs and confidence level.
