Work from home dog sitter

Pet care experience

I'm a native Chicagoan who grew up with a big-hearted yellow lab named Huckleberry. From an early age, I felt a bond with dogs. As an adult, I had the joy of raising Toby, a sweet and occasionally grumpy rescue who taught me more about patience, loyalty, and unconditional love than practically anyone else. I've taken care of my friends' dogs on an amateur basis for years, so it's a natural fit to transition into professional pet care. In addition to working with animals, I'm a freelance copywriter. Through longtime client, Nestlé Purina, I've developed expertise in dog care, from how to select high-quality dog food to the most effective methods for cleaning canine ears. Whether I'm writing from home or out walking dogs, I appreciate the flexibility to stay responsive and fully present with the animals in my care. Pet care has never been just a job for me—it's personal. I've been trusted with friends', neighbors', and family members' dogs for years, and it's an honor to extend that same trust to new clients and their beloved companions. Feel free to contact me to share a bit about your pet care needs. We'll set up a time for an in-home meet-and-greet. This visit gives us a chance to get to know each other, review your dog's routine, and walk through any information I'll need to know while you're away. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we can go ahead and schedule your first reservation. I believe dogs thrive on consistency. They feel safest and happiest when their daily routines stay familiar, especially when their humans are away. That's why I take the time to learn how you structure your dog's day—mealtimes, walks, play, rest—and do my best to mirror that rhythm when your dog is staying with me. If you've got training systems or care instructions in place, I'll follow them closely. If your approach is more laid-back, that's how I'll handle things as well. My goal is to create a seamless experience that keeps both you and your dog at ease. I care for every animal with the same attentiveness and respect I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your dog!

Matthew was a lifesaver for me and my little one. Pinch hit at the last minute when her other Rover had a family emergency. He sent lots of updates and was very communicative. Would definitely book Matthew again!
