Pet care experience

Law School Grad and Animal Lover

I just graduated from law school and am looking to make some additional money while studying for the bar. As such, I have an incredibly flexible schedule and am at home a significant portion of the day. I have 20+ years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments as well as other pets. I’m comfortable with puppies and young pets — helping them build confidence, reinforce basic commands, and establish healthy routines. I’m equally attentive to senior dogs, understanding their need for gentler exercise, medication schedules, and extra comfort. What sets me apart is my calm, patient energy and genuine love for animals. I treat every pet like my own — with consistent boundaries, plenty of affection, and close attention to their individual personality and needs. I’m also a reliable communicator, sending regular photo updates so owners always feel at ease. Special skills include: • Puppy socialization and basic obedience reinforcement (I have helped raise 3 puppies) • Senior pet care (mobility support, medications, low-impact activity). My families fifteen year old golden retriever prepared me well 😀. • Administering oral medications • Experience with high-energy breeds and dogs with anxiety • I workout regularly and can easily lift any dog if needed.

Matt is the best! He has been helping out with my pup for years and there is nobody I trust more! He always gets my Golden nice and tired and keeps me updated with pictures of their adventures! He is very reliable and often available on short notice!

Matt took Josie for a lovely long walk, which she seem to have enjoyed a great deal. He was prompt, responsive, and very pleasant to work with. I will call him again!

Matthew was such a great cat sitter! He was always on time, quick to get back to me, and sent me some adorable photos. My cat was so happy to have him around. I’d definitely recommend Matthew for any pet care you need!

Matt has cared for both my family's dog and cat, and I would trust him with them anytime. Our dog was 15 years old and had trouble getting around, and Matt was incredibly patient and kind with her. He would carry her when she needed help and always made sure she was comfortable and cared for. He also watched our family cat on a separate occasion and was just as attentive. I know Matt personally and can confidently say he is responsible, trustworthy, and someone who will treat your pets like his own.

My cat Helly stayed with Matt twice - each time for over a week - and I couldn't have asked for better care. She bonded with him quickly and settled right into his place, which says a lot about his calm, welcoming energy. He was attentive to all the details that matter: her eating habits, a clean litter box, and consistent communication throughout my trips. I always felt completely at ease knowing she was in good hands. Highly recommend Matt to any pet owner looking for someone truly trustworthy!

Schedule

recently graduated law school and am currently studying for the bar exam, which means I’m working from home with a very flexible schedule. I have plenty of time throughout the day to give pets the attention, walks, and companionship they need — no rushing off to an office or unpredictable hours. Having a pet around actually makes for great study company!

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m welcoming pets into my home or caring for them in their own space, my approach is the same — attentive, calm, and consistent with their normal routine. In my home: I provide a comfortable, pet-friendly environment where animals are never left alone for long periods. Pets have space to relax, play, and get plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day. In your home: I follow your pet’s established routine as closely as possible — same feeding times, same walking schedule, same rules. I want them to feel like nothing has changed, just with a friendly new face. For drop-in visits: I make the most of every visit — feeding, fresh water, playtime, a walk if needed, and of course some quality cuddle time. I always send a update so you know how things went. For dog walking: Walks are tailored to your dog’s pace and energy level. I keep them safe, engaged, and well-exercised — and always clean up after them.
