Pet care experience
A Helping Hand in Tacoma
I love all pets! I grew up caring for turtles, snakes, frogs, lizards, salamanders, insects, gerbils, hamsters, and just about every other small critter you can think of (and snakes are my favorite animal!). We cared for 5 different dogs growing up, including my Shih Tzu Marley who ended up staying with our family long term. My goal is to bring that same enthusiasm and experience to every pet I care for.

Matthew did a great job watching my cat. He's chill, flexible, and communicative. I highly recommend him for your pet sitting needs.
Matthew watched Cooper for a week and I was extremely pleased! Cooper is a senior dog that takes a lot of different medication, and Matthew was great about making sure he got all his meds at the right times. He took him for lots of walks, gave him lots of pets, sent me many pictures, and would come to the house often to keep him company. Matthew is a great sitter who will treat your pup like his own.

I work from home full-time on weekdays and some weekends, leaving plenty of time and opportunity to look after your babies. My job is also remote/flexible, allowing me to work from other locations as needed. The Shih Tzu in the photos is Marley, my 11 year old boy who lives with my parents on the East Coast :)

Safety, trust & environment
I have a home with a partially fenced in backyard and front yard, and can put up a pen as needed. There are currently no other pets, so I typically allow dogs/cats to roam indoors during the day and use walking trails at a nearby park to walk outdoors. If you opt to have me house sit, or have special needs for your pet, we can discuss those on a per-pet basis.
A typical day
Anything! I have toys, a yard, and live within walking distance of the county’s largest dog park at my boarding location so the dogs can get their daily exercise needs. Other, I will let the dogs freely roam around the house unless you specify otherwise.
