Hi, I’m Matt. My fiancé Ellie and I have always had animals in our lives, from hamsters and rats, to our current dog and cat, and even chickens. We are the type of people who get more excited about a dog at a party than the people. The best part of our day is always the butt wiggles and kisses from our sweet Millie girl when we walk in the house. Animals bring so much happiness and fulfillment to our lives, and we know just how much they mean to you — because ours are family, too. Whether we’re playing fetch, giving belly rubs, or just spending quiet time with a shy pet, we treat every animal like one of our own. We don’t have many expectations for your pets - the only rule in our house is to let dogs be dogs. Our happiness comes from watching them live their life to the fullest in a safe and loving home. However, if you are working on any specific behaviors with your pup, we can make sure to reinforce your rules so your canine friend doesn’t come home with poor habits. Our Millie is very well behaved and we think she would be a great role model to dogs of any age! Ellie and I both had the privilege of experiencing the full lives of our childhood dogs and we know the specialized care and attention that they need at all stages of life, from puppy to senior. We promise to keep your pet's routine consistent and tend to their special needs so your furry best friend feels comfortable and secure in our home. We are happy to send as many updates and pictures as you’d like to give you peace of mind while you’re away. My dog Rocky had a great stay with Matthew and Ellie. Before the boarding we communicated by text and had a short video call to get acquainted, since my schedule meant I wouldn't have much time to talk during drop-off. (They also graciously offered to have a meetup at a dog park with their dog in advance to make sure they would get along, but I felt that wasn't necessary, and the dogs got along great.) During the boarding they sent photos every day, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated that they were willing to accommodate my pretty narrow windows of availability to drop off and pick up Rocky when I was on my way to the airport. In any case, these guys are great sitters and I would certainly leave Rocky with them again!

We are so grateful for the care Matthew and Ellie gave to our dog Marla. This was our first time using Rover and we were very nervous. Matthew and Ellie let us come to their home to see everything and how more the would feel at their place. They are very open and respectful. Marla had a wonderful time they provided daily pictures. They were very responsive to any messages. They were in constant communication with us and were also very flexible when we needed to extend marvelous care. We are very pleased with how everything went and will definitely be using them again in the future. I especially appreciated how they seemed to not just see this as a job, but actually enjoyed having Marla as part of their family.

Schedule
We work Monday through Friday but can accommodate dogs during the week as long as you are aware that we will not be home during our working hours so your dog must be able to go up to 8 hours without care. If our calendar shows availability on a weekend that means we will be able to be at home with your animals all day Saturday and Sunday!

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fenced in yard and a large deck for your dog to enjoy a place to run or sunbathe. The fence is 3 feet tall, so any dogs that we think may be capable of jumping the fence will be taken out on a leash. We would prefer dogs with any destructive tendencies to be in a crate if we do need to leave the house. We have a crate that can accommodate up to ~50 lbs, for anything larger a crate must be provided. For the non-chewers, we are happy to leave them free in the house, but we would likely separate them from our dog and cat while we step away by closing the door to the lower level where your pet will have plenty of space to roam and several beds to choose from for napping.

A typical day
An ideal day would be going for a walk on the nearby trails (if the owner is comfortable with it) or playing fetch in our yard, treats for all the good boys and girls, followed by relaxing and cuddles on the couch.
