Safety, trust & environment
I will spend time with the pet, and the owner, to understand how to best care for your pup and to make sure we are aligned on the expectation when in my care.
Information Matthew D. would like to know about your pet
As part of the introduction process I will want to understand the nuances of your pet's behavior; likes, dislikes, food preferences, obedience level (will they bolt if off leash), medical history, and anything else you believe is important and relevant so I make it a pleasant experience for you and your pet.
A typical day
I'm a very active person, so I love keeping pets happy, active, and engaged with a variety of fun adventures tailored to their energy level and personality. From trips to the dog park for social time and fetch, to peaceful trail walks full of sniffing and exploring, your pet will enjoy a blend of exercise and enrichment. For high-energy pups, I also offer hiking outings with plenty of water breaks and scenic stops. If your dog loves the water, we can add swimming sessions at dog-friendly lakes or beaches—perfect for cooling off and getting in some low-impact exercise.

Pet care experience
I've taken care of dogs, for walking and overnight arrangements, over the last 5 years and enjoy the experience. I'm easy to work with and a trustworthy person.

So kind and great at communicating! My dog loves him!

Very responsive and updated with pictures and videos
It is an honor to write a very positive recommendation for Matt as a frequent dog caretaker for my very needy dog, Vita, over the past couple years. Vita is a 4 year old PTSD rescue. Vita is very sweet but came into my life as timid and afraid of most people, including family, within the household and other dogs. She didn't have trust with humanity after her severe abuse as a puppy. Matt is a good friend that took care of another friend's dog, BoBo, when she was away on business. I witnessed his kind and attentive nature with BoBo. I introduced Vita to BoBo at Matt's apartment and he helped nurture a lasting friendship between the dogs. BoBo moved to Philadelphia, but soon after I had family travel plans that didn't allow for Vita to join us. Matt offered to take Vita in as my surrogate and it has been the answer to me and my dog's needs on many occasions.. Vita trusts Matt. He developed that trust through keen attention, genuine affection, play, caring and accommodating her routines. It was a match made in heaven. Matt's ability to make Vita feel safe and comfortable gave me the same blanket of comfort knowing that my best canine friend was going to be in good hands with minimal anxiety. I strongly, without hesitation, recommend Matt as a viable caretaker for your pet when life takes you away.
