I work around 20-30 hours a week & live within a 10 minute walk to my job. Im generally a home body & will be particularly when sitting. I live near a large park & have a fenced dog run on my rooftop so can give immediate, short & extended care/walks - whatever is needed by them.

Safety, trust & environment
It depends on what the animal wants & needs. My home will/can be an open space for them if thats what they want and plenty of room for them to find their comfortable spot. I have an AC & heater, so climate wont be an issue. When it comes to your home, mostly same thing applies - its all up to you & them. I will respect that its your/their space - not mine. During summers, if caring at your home, do prefer housing with AC because I am a bit sensitive towards heat but not enough to turn down a job (unless it gets 80°+ inside).

Animal Dad to say the least!
Pet care experience
I was brought up in a rural area, surrounded be many animals the entire time. I worked in an animal shelter for 2 years before I moved to Seattle. I've had dogs since I was born & a few cats - would have had more but 2 family members were allergic. Im very familiar of taking care of.dogs of all ages. Several of the babies I've had over the years lived to be well into their mid teens, so dealing with the blind, deaf, sickly & just old age in general, isn't an issue. Small/large, old/young, low/hight maintenance - im comfortable, exposed & familiar with it all.

Reviews

Matthew took great care of my cat Nala and my home while I was away. He was very thorough on making sure he understood the instructions and wasn't afraid to ask questions where he needed clarification. Nala seemed to warm to him very quickly, and he was diligent in his care. He was even flexible enough to stay an extra night last minute when I had flight disruptions. I came home to a cleaner house than when I left and a safe, healthy kitty. Would book again.

Matthew was exactly what we needed for our high-energy puppy. He arranged a meet up in person before and basically saw our baby at our worst from the start. A 1-year-old Staffy Pit Bull Terrier can be a lot to handle, but Matthew’s calm demeanor, patience, and firmness when needed kept her happy, well-behaved, and under control during our three days away from home. On top of that, our 8-year-old cat doesn’t like anyone other than her momma (my partner lol), and somehow she took a liking to him faster than she did to me — and we’ve been together for 4 years! 🤣 We came home to happy pets, a stress-free experience, and total peace of mind. Couldn’t recommend Matthew more.
I cannot recommend Matt highly enough for anyone looking for a reliable and genuinely caring person to look after their dog. Matt takes care of my Great Dane, Bowie, and the bond they’ve formed is incredible. Every time Bowie sees him, she gets so excited for their walks together—it’s clear she absolutely adores him. As a pet owner, there is no better feeling than knowing your dog is in hands that care for her just as much as you do. Matt is attentive, trustworthy, and clearly has a natural gift with animals. We are so lucky to have him!
Matthew has been helping me with my dog, Arthur, for about two years now. It’s easy to say that Matthew is Arthur’s favorite human. He cares for Arthur in a way I would want someone who cares for him, besides myself, to. Arthur has tendencies to be nervous around other dogs and Matthew knows exactly how to handle it and can read Arthur very well. I trust him with Arthur 100% and can always rely on Matthew to help walk him or watch him when needed.
