House Sitting • May 05, 2026

Matthew has been taking care of our black lab for a few years now. Despite her being a ball of energy with many quirks, Matthew has shown nothing but love and patience with her. Our girl always comes back exhausted. When he house sits, he takes care of our house just as he would his own. He’s the best dog sitter we’ve ever had!

We had a great experience and felt so at ease leaving our babies in Matthew’s care! They followed my (long!) instructions perfectly and gave our pups so much love and attention. Getting updates and photos meant everything to us. We will definitely be booking again and highly recommend! 🐾

Matt really is a super host, Charlie was with him for an extended stay and had a great time with him - he had some good long walks and got in some good playtime with a few other borders. Matt is highly dependable and very responsive.

We’ve used Matthew many times now, and he has become our go-to dog sitter! He is a dog whisperer when it comes to our lab. He’s able to calm her, get her excited, play with other dogs, all while going on multiple walks a day. Our dog will start jumping and spinning because of how excited she is to go see her favorite sitter! His communication is prompt and frequent. We know our dog is loved and cared for whenever we’re out of town!

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Matt went above and beyond while looking after my dog these past few days. From regular updates and adorable pictures to making sure all his needs were met, it was clear he was in loving and capable hands.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog's physical safety is my first priority. I am cautious when walking on the leash and we won't visit dog parks unless that is specifically part of your routine. Your dog's emotional well-being is equally important to me. I believe attention and affection are every bit as important to dogs as their kibble. I have a spacious home with a fenced-in backyard (secured by a tall garage door). Generally, your dog can be downstairs or outside. Most of the time, they hang out in the kitchen in an open area behind a pet gate.

A typical day

We will usually go out 4 times a day: morning, midday, after work, and before bed. I like to walk as much as your dog is up for. That usually means at least a mile a day on weekdays, and longer adventures on the weekends. If your dog is comfortable with other people, I try to include them in whatever I'm doing, like meeting friends for coffee or a backyard barbeque.

The most important thing for me to know is if your dog is reactive on the leash. My neighborhood is very dog-friendly, which means we will see other dogs on our walks. Beyond that, just let me know their likes, dislikes, and quirks so I can make their stay comfortable!
